Totally awesome ponies!!! Not met one bigger than 13hh but really, who needs a horse bigger than that

A friend of mine has one and her YO is a member of the Dartmoor Hill Pony Society and had loads of them at one point - she'd buy them wild, tame them and sell them on. She does driving with two of her mares and they are amazing - and the same ponies are also fabulous riding ponies. They are a fantastic breed!

Wasn't Drummer, who belonged to Drummers Mum, a Dartmoor Hill Pony? If you do a search on here for them, Nic, you might find out some more. I always thought Drummer looked a really nice little chap.

Whatever happened to Drummers Mum?

They are a child's or small adults pony, not due to weight but sheer leg lenght. They do well at anything, and have the stamina of an elephant, can be cheeky though. Like most natives, they have a keen self preservation instinct.

she wasnt balshy (sp) like my 14.2 connemara X but does have the cheekiness of a native (but in a loveable way! )
