Rode without falling off. Yey!

Took me a few days to get over last weekends little performance. Told physio on weds that i got back on my horsie, (and fell off), and she said i need my head examining and on no account to get back on again yet.

Well that was like a red rag to a bull! Got back on this morning - kept it to a sedate walk this time, but for the first time found that i was actually enjoying myself, and relaxed a bit. Used a whip to tap behind saddle instead of my right leg (poor Baz!), but felt quite secure in the saddle.

Not convinced that a physiotherapist who doesn't ride actually knows how much benefit riding can be to gently strengthen the thigh and back muscles. Going to try and get a few more rides in before i have the spine scanned next friday - hoping that riding will loosen things up enough that the consultant will decide its not necessary and sign me off!

Hey Bazzie....I strongly suspect that my Physio might of also panicked had I fallen off again...but she still feels that the riding is good for my pelvis and posture which seems to be the all important factor in helping back recovery.
Wait and see what the consultant says...might be an idea not to mention the fall though

Take it easy and let us know how you get on...

love FR

Too right! Great to hear you are back on, and how could she possibly understand. How much you need a physio who is scared of horses! All they need to do is help us live our own lives again.... (sorry, on my high 'un again tonight, been getting rattled by some posts on here .....)

So glad you are back on - I think we should all use riding as physiotherapy.. great stuff and well done. That was brave, after falling off again.

I didnt ride today - phoned and cancelled as have been a bit ill all week. Riding Sunday tho', and head instructor back from hols..... interesting times ahead
