Another small step forwards...

Just a little update ...... stop reading now if you're bored of them!

I'm smiling like a loon today Okay, so it's sunny and nearly the weekend, but that's not the only reason!

I was brave and went back in the arena yesterday. I've wimped out a bit since Megan's owner gave me a lesson. I had no problems that day, but my fear kept muttering things about the "scary" corner and Megan running off with me.

I had to be brave though because I didn't have long to ride, so the arena it was. Well ... fairly early on she decided canter was more fun than trot, and you know what? I just went with it, popped her onto a 20m circle and practiced getting my seat correct. I was actually *whispers* enjoying it.

And THEN..... I went to the other rein, and actually asked for canter for the first time ever! And we did a few nice 20m circles on that rein too.

Plus she tried it on in the "scary" corner, but I stopped her spooking or speeding up and made her do some circles over there too How brave am I?

See. I CAN do it.

sounds like you were really working together well.

I remember when I had my pony as a teenageer and sometimes he would decide he waanted to do something so i would just let him and then make it into a learning experience.

Its so lovely when you read happy positive posts - I know that smiling like a loon feeling - isn't is great?

Well done with the spooky corner. It sounds like you are having fun and making great progress.
