Hey
If you want to make a show cover or 1/4 sheet etc, take yur stable/paddock rug and use that as a pattern. You can adjust things eg length. and its great because you know it will fit your horse! o and you can do the same with saddle cloths.
anyone suggest a good b ook that is not expensive?
in the back of horse and rider they always have an add in there for a place in essex to send a large sae to and you get a free catalgoue and i never ever got mine while i was living in england..tried about 3 times...
I've made saddlecloths, stables rugs, fleeces and coolers etc and and an exercise sheet. Also covered browbands - although would love to know how to do it with three coloured ribbons not just two...
Here in UK we have T & T Equestrian Supplies that does all materials, buckles, straps etc for tack making plus some patterns as well. Their tel no. is 020 8599 3829. They will send a brochure.
Showjumper (Dolly's mom) made some rope halters and bridles a while back. I went crazy after seeing them and so did everyone else! There were orders going to her left and right. I think I'd still like to make one myself.
hee hee i made all mine leg wraps out of an old fleece rug, so much quicker than bandages! it was for a textile project at school when i was 12, and they are still going strong!!!!
