Long-reining exercises to prepare for driving?

I'm getting a dvd after payday but have started long reining in the meantime. Pony has obviously done this before. Was all - and this is supposed to be hard? He almost taught me as I'd never done it before! We had fun in walk and trot, turning, changing pace, honing voice commands.

Does anyone have any good exercises to do though while I wait for the dvd? I thought of bending through cones - any others?

Cones generally are a good thing to play with - bending, arranged as a square to manouver in and out of etc. Oh and have you tried rein back and standing still - they will be very useful to practice ahead of your DVD coming. Also negotiating gateways or other random obstacles is useful.

Claire Wigmore's Breaking to Drive (I think it's that, 'tis on the list at the top of this forum!). Can't wait, will be ordering as soon as the money hits the bank!

Its really good Teazle - I like that one (hence I recommended it I suppose!) Very easy to follow but comprehensive - I have broken my own ponies and have been driving for 17 years and still bought and enjoyed it last year.
