Farrington Saddles - Opinions?

Question in title really, does anyone have one, and what are your opinions on them?

I have two! Both Burford Events (GPs). The first one was made for my mare about 10 years ago. The other I got from Ebay cos I liked the first so much.

They are really comfy for the rider but the reason I got one in the first place is they have a much wider gullet than most saddles. Means there is more space over the horses spine. The panels are also quite wide so the weight is spread over a large area.

No idea about the price! I've ridden in a couple of Farrington GPs though & they are very comfy, although they do put you in a chair seat so not recommended if you're into classical dressage They seem well made & hard wearing

If it helps I paid £750 for the made to measure one 10yrs ago and £280 for the second from ebay which was probly 2/3yrs old when I got it. Wide fittings tend to go for a bit more. If you are buying it fitted from a saddler I'd expect to pay around £400-500 for a 2 yr old version in good condition.

I have a farrington WH I bought as new of ebay for £200, when it turned up I nerly fainted as it literally hadnt been used (not the usual ebayers poetic licence!). I love it, and prefer it to my old Albion selecta that I had last year. I use mine for hacking ,schooling and shows. My horse is a wide sec D with big shoulders and a good wither and the saddle fits him. NO pressure marks or wither dents at all. It does as others have said have a very wide gullet and is beautifully made.
