Riding schools in Sheffield?

I'd like to hear some opinions on riding schools in/near Sheffield. I'm looking for a place to have lessons and it'd make it much easier to choose if I had some feedback from people who've been to some of them.

To give you some background - I'm 28 and started riding when I was 5. I had my own horse from age 13-18, but rode very rarely after leaving home due to lack of money (my mum still has our horse so I used to ride her occasionally when I went back to visit). I started having weekly lessons again earlier this year, but I don't feel like I'm making any progress at the stables I've been going to (I'm not mentioning which stables it is, as it's a nice place but I think they cater a lot more for younger/more novice riders) so I'm looking out for somewhere else.
I obviously want to be making progress with my riding and I also want to focus on jumping as I haven't really done any since before I got my horse when I was 13. It'd be nice to go to a riding school with an indoor arena now the weather is getting bad, but that's not essential! All recommendations much appreciated...

I trek down to Smeltings Farm once a month now, thoroughly recommend it.

Hello!!
I have been to both Barnes Green in Grenoside, and Snowdon out towards Eckington. Snowdon had great facilities and the lessons were taught really well, however you turn up and get put on the horse, you don't get chance to handle the horse yourself. However, I don't know if I read a thread saying it had closed
I enjoyed Barnes Green, but maybe thats because I had such a good RI! There is only an outdoor school which is annoying when it rained as you could only use half the school! We did do quite a bit of jumping, and beginners dressage training, but the school is too small to do a course of jumps.

Sorry I haven't been able to recommend anywhere, but I hope my opinions helped!!

Second Smeltings and if you can afford it try and get some lessons with Damien Stenton or Emma Lethbridge who sometimes teaches there. It's probably one of the best RS in the area.

Parklands at Aston. It has an indoor & outdoor school n lovely facilities. They cater for all abilities and do private or group lessons. You can have specialist jumping lessons there too. I'd definately recommend it n never heard a bad word about it

Unless you can get in whilst everyone else is at work I think the chances of booking at Smeltings are virtually nil, I know someone who's just tried.
