I wouldnt fancy trying to tow one of them if it is, I always think that they look as if they would blow over!!!

Hi, just found your post! The 403 is a fabulous trailer. We had a 505, but nearly always just towed one horse in it, when we decided to upgrade to the newer style we went for the 403. It is fantastic to tow, much lighter. And the 403's are known as 'mare and foal' boxes, so they have far more room in them for the horse than they normally have when partitioned in a 506/511. Much more room for the horse to find his feet.

also on the ifor williams website it says you dont need to do another test because its under the weight catergory....

Just to confirm ifor website says the following

A 4x4 may not be necessary to tow the HB403 (depending on vehicle’s towing capacity) and also provides towing options for drivers without the B+E category on their driving licence.

Doesn't state you won’t need a licence – but does advise can be the case if the correct vehicle weight is chosen. The Ifor 403 trailer MAM is 1600kg so a vehicle with equal 1600kg capacity would allow you to tow without doing licence but you would have to make sure vehicle was no less then 1600kg and no more then 1900kg.

I emailed ifor and was told the MAM of these is 1700kgs, however think i will go and see them in person lol. as am toying with the dea of buying one of these
