Help me sell my horsebox

following on from this thread

http://www.newrider.com/forum/showth...ferrerid=12943 (hope thats right never posted a link before!)

I have now decided with the blessing of the lady who gave me the box to sell it and get a trailer.

The box has just passed its plating/mot and has 12 months tax on it. Clearly I need to get some good photos including one with the awning out.

So then

how much do I advertise it for, where do I advertise, here, h&h, ebay, freeads, local tack shop??????

I have never had to really advertise before is the below any good?

1976 Bedford 7.5tonne 3 horse box, 1 years tax and mot, excellent runner starts first time, no living but awning and winch included. Only for sale as new horse prefers trailer. please contact me on xxxxxxxx

edited to say should I mention that I have £3900 of receipts of work done last feb.

I want to get as much as possible as I will be buying a trailer with the proceeds.

Thank you for your help

My first thought is to advertise it for £2700 does this seem about the right level?

Have a look on ebay for comparable prices.

I am in the market for a horsebox, but must say that my mechanic friend has put me off buying any bedford as he says the parts are more difficult to come accross. Having said that, they do seem to sell pretty well on ebay, so good luck.

Whack it on for £2800 but with an o.n.o .. Deffo put in ISC, Battlesbridge Feeds and up on boards at Norton Heath, Longwood and Towerlands. I'd stick it in Essex Rider too. You'll prob sell it locally. H&H is a good bet but expensive..

Good luck! It's really nice box

Thanks, I will get the photos and get some postcards and off we go.

I have also added it to my signature. I will be sad to see it go but pleased to get a decent trailer so we can go anywhere whenever the fancy takes us.

tried the trailer but it had no partition and the rangerover was at the mechanics so couldn't tow him anywhere. He went in okay, he just needed a firm hand otherwise he would just stand there. I fed him breakfast and tea inside with the ramp up so at least thats a positive.

I was planning on taking him to the forest when I do get a trailer 9I might hire one from Julie for a month until the box sells) so if he won't load we can always hack back.

Good luck with selling it - can't wait until you are mobile, so we can go places and do things!
