God knows its taken me long enough but finally I managed a total solo hack. I coped with the "OMG I have to get on here and there is no one around" bit and off we went. Arnie was fine in the lane but did get a bit silly when we were on the road - he spooked at a car - this is the horse that is the outside horse while hacking in company! - and spooked at a girl walking a dog but he was probably just picking it up from me.
We met his daddy coming home from work but we kept going for a bit further before we turned back.
Only just over a mile all in but it was a big thing for me
. Any other time I've tried it I have been out with someone else to start with so he was more settled.
