Isn't it just a small strip of leather? Will check prices and see if I have a new 'business opportunity'! We chuck strips away from bridle/harness making that would probably make 'poppers'!

They are just little skinny bits of leather, yes! Will look into those suggestions. Thanks! All things Parelli are pricier so will probably go for a cheap alternative as a bit of leather is a bit of leather!

Kis Vihar, I will also be in the market for some slobber straps if you are setting off on a new enterprise!

G'day widget.
We get a couple of emails a week from people wanting us to replace poppers on savvy strings. We always feel guilty about taking money for such a small job so if the owner pays postage, we do it for free.... we always offer these hints if they want to do it themselves, especially if the popper is mounted thru the rope Parelli Style...
#Cut a popper from scrap leather..8mm -10mm wide x 300mm long cut to point each end (steel ruler & craft/leather knife helps but a box cutter/stanley knife will do a good job.
#Pull out old popper then carefully enlarge the hole but take care not to damage the outer cover braided threads. A set of needle point pliers are good, but a knitting needle will do this job
#Push needle point pliers thru the hole and grip the point of the popper and pull thru halfway.
#cut first slit just past the end of the string and lace the leather thru, then cut 2nd slit and lace....give it a good oiling and done.

We changed the design of our strings to make it easier for people to replace poppers, pic below.

If anyone needs any assistance, email and we will see if we can help with a suggestion or two.

cheers
Rob
