dartmoor ponies??

I'm possibly going to view 3 dartmoor ponies tomorrow as they are only around the corner and are for sale at a good price and registered. But I have very little contact with dartmoors in my life so what can anyone tell me about them? Would they be able to carry me when they are adults (currently all 2 year old colts) I am 5'2" and tend to be betwen 8 and 8 and a half stone.

Thankyou.

Depends what hight these darties will make, although horses are strong I would not want a 12hh pony carring a adult for mega hacks.

Depending of the height/build they eventually make they will carry you with absolutely no problems at all they are very strong hardy ponies quite capable of carrying an adult weighing 10/11stone

We share a field with a Dartmoor. She about 11.2 and a socky little thing. girl who rides her is about 5ft8 and about 8/9 stone and does everything with her no worries.

As long as they are of the stocky type i doubt you'd have a problem
