Storing my new tack

So all of Daffy's tack (bar one pair of reins and a sliphead) was bought brand new back in April/May. His bridle has been lightly used, his breastplate and show reins still have the tags on.

It's all put away tidily; hung on bridle racks on the end of my horsey wardrobe, or in the case of his saddle and accessories, on the SaddleMate stand.

I've noticed recently that my bridle (Sabre) has white streaks on it. Bit like when you take imported leather out of the bag. I'm guessing it's soap residue or something.

Should I strip it down, clean it and put it back into the bags it came in? Or just leave it? Or clean it and put it back on the hook?
