It's the insurance that you will have bother with, not the license.

We use Eric Gillie for all our horse transporting. He's very reasonable and the best there is.

I used Katie Roberts and she was really nice and has a lovely small horsebox.

If you search for her on Facebook her profile picture is her horsebox (it's green)

I've used the same Eric as Wally a few times now - his drivers are brilliant - they're all horse people and know how to treat a horse His lorries are up and down the country and he is able to do short trips too

If you decide to use "friends of friends" just make sure that they are insured and know what they're doing and the box or trailer has been service etc..... Personally, i'd rather pay the extra and get someone who knows what they are doing and who has been doing it for years.

Katie doesn't hire her box out but she drives all over. She's based at Beamish and brought Bobby from near Pontefract for me

Nice box with CCTV.

Have used Eric Gillie too. Huuuuuge horse boxes and great service but not as flexible on dates in my experience. Think it depends where there other jobs are.

ETA: Katie Roberts isn't a friend. It's her business so she is fully insured
