We went to our local area Shetland Show today - it stayed dry - Emma dis the LR with Acorn - he behaved himself ( I was a bit nervous after last weeks Fresh pony episode) Emma did her first figure of eight in trot - 6th out of 7 - so one better than her last show - she was well pleased with herself - although did tell nervous nanna off for not running him out faster- TBH I did as I was worried about the bucking- will just go with it next time.

we did the midi inhand class and he broke into canter during his show so didn,t expect too much - manners are expected - we got 4th out of 6 so not complaining .

although judge did comment to 5th that she needed more weight on the pony- has EMS and tbh the pony is ridden and was about right in my eyes- more like Acorns build - he said he prefferred them with more substance - you get this and I had hoped we had got away from it - the winner was rotund - being kind, so if that is his prefernce we would not have come any higher - better manners or not.

Spoke with owner afterwards - she was not happy - it is a battle sometimes but you just have to put it down to the day and prefernces and move on,

We had a great girly day out , 2 daughters, grandaughter and me, met up with a couple of friends - and some sun as a bonus!

Such a shame about the judges, we as horse lover try and do the best for out horses health and they want to see fatties runny down the runway...
