How to clean a REALLY filthy bridle

hello!

I HATE tack cleaning. That's why i have a synthetic saddle and webbing bridle for everyday use. When i do shows I do need to get my leather bridle clean.

I decided this weekend to use my electic toothbrush on my bridle and it did a superb job. It got all the muck off the bridel, even round the stitching and buckles. I used saddle soap and a little bit of water then rubbed in lots of leather treatment and my bridle looked really clean and smart.

So, to save lots of hard work, use and electric toothbrush. Don't forget to use a different head to your usual tooth cleaning one though!

That sounds like a good idea! I'll file that mentally under "things to do when I finally get my own horse". But by that time, electric toothbrushes might be obsolete! Who knows!

You need to make a strap board!

It is a flat board with tiny holes bored down the length of it. Put a nail or hook at the top, then hang the strap on the hook and use a matchstick through the hole in the strap to secure it to the board. Then you can scrub or polish away and the strap will stay flat.

the best way I found to clean my bridle was to take it home and sit with a good movie on and scub till your hearts delight or until the grease has gone I some times use the back of an old knife to scap it of if its really dirty but I might try a toothbrush now
