What pattern is Pinto?

My horse Pinto that is

I thought he was a tobiano, but he does have quite a big patch of white on his face, as well as a flesh mark on his bottom lip

Right side: ( this was taken pre-diet )

Left side:

Front view:

The other thing is... he has a lot of the 'cat-track' freckles, both on his side, and a few on his (white) bum. I was reading on here: http://sheepasylum.cherrytaco.com/equinecolor/main.html that this is usually due to a homozygous tobi pattern... BUT Pinto is meant to be half percheron, and Perchs aren't coloured... they're all solid (or so I believe)

Confusion abounds

Sorry for the size of the bottom 2 photos

He's tobiano. The spotty bits are sometimes associated with two tobiano genes, but not always. They are typical tobiano patterning though.

He's lovely; very nicely marked!

thanks chev

I love his markings too. If his legs weren't so lumpy I'd consider showing him in local classes next year. He'd certainly turn heads, as coloured horses aren't very common in my area of Europe
