Carpet Underlay

A piece of old carpet underlay makes for a good pretend ditch in schooling - traditional underlay is mostly black and therefore makes a good ditch. Blue underlay is now commonly available and this makes a good water jump. Because it is flexible, you can start with a big piece folded up and unfold as training progresses. Also, the inner tubes from carpet rolls also make good lightweight jumping poles and can be painted any way you want.
PS - however, you will have to make friends with your local carpet fitter!!
