Frogpool Mannor Saddlery - opinions?

Are Frogpool Manor saddlery any good at dispatching their items within a decent time period? Anyone got any experience of them at all?

Cheers

never bought from them I'm afraid as they are always considerably more expensive than anywhere else.

Bought a rug from there once that wasn't in stock, told 2-3 weeks, cancelled order a month later then a month after that got a phone call asking if I still wanted the rug Wouldn't be my first choice for shopping after that.

I've placed two orders with them because I like the lay out of their website, with a good selection and good online prices. However, they didn't fulfil either order entirely. When items were out of stock, they didn't bother to inform me until I chased them with telephone calls. After one such enquiry, when I pressed hard for information! I was told the Thermatex I ordered would be delivered in about three weeks. Two months later, I cancelled it!

I'm afraid the service is just too poor for me. I have been a fan of Derby House until this past 10 days when they sent me the same item wrongly twice - it was mis-labelled. Wouldn't you think when I returned it explaining that, it might have ocurred to them that a batch may have been mis-labelled and they would check the second one they were sending to me Its the only error they have made in many orders though, but so stupid! I'm past caring now and have cancelled it. This means I have payed £4.95 p&p for a grooming spray and a £0.50p mane comb

If they have what you want, you can't beat Rideaway really. The prices are good and you see online what is instock before placing the order.

i've never had problems with Derby House or Frogpool. Rideaway on the other hand made a hash of my order for my high riders. when i placed my order (by phone) they said i'd get them in 2-5 days. 7 days later i phone to be told they have no record of my order (despite taking my money ). i phoned a subsequent 3 times and got 3 different stories. boots eventually turned up 3 weeks later!! was not a happy bunny.

my local tack shop have recently set up an online shop. its still under construction but they do take phone orders and they are fantastic www.hayfieldsaddlery.com their whole range isn't on the site but if you phone them they are very helpful!

Have to say I've never done mail order from either.

I bought a bit from Fylde saddlery though, went up to order it, and then they posted it out. It was going to cost £50 (special order) but the invoice said £80. I would've liked a phone call for that as it's quite a big increase, and if I'd known it was going to be £80 I wouldn't have bothered, but I'm still impressed with the bit so nevermind.

We have a mailorder warehouse where I work and I deal with quite a few complaints on a saturday, but as my boss pointed out, when they're sending out 50-70 orders a day, one or two wrong isn't bad. I just seem to deal with the week full.
