Er how important is a tail in an m&m class?

an inhand m&m (maybe ridden one as well) at a tiny local show were each class has about 5 entrants or so!

im hoping to finally take angel next month but by then her tail will either be gone entirely or will ne reduced to about 10 hairs

no intention of getting placed (hang on, only 5 entrants, haha!) but dont want to be laughed at for turning up with a tail-less pony

or would no tail be ok for errr 'blemishes don't count'?!

Fraid she'll get marked down a little for it (M&M's are meant to have flowing tails) but that's no reason for not going. You're not going to get boo-ed out of the class

Go for it. If she behaves and goes nicely that will count for much much more than a lack of tail.

nah, dont really want to spend money on a false tail i'm not a habitual showing person and i dont think i could attach a false one, anyways as there really isnt much to weave it onto

false tails sound fun though! wonder if they do pink ones, for that My Little Pony Look

Pink with sliver glittery strands would be good!

Imagine the look on the judge's face....

another thing i thought of was ... i could pretend she is a kicker and attach an enormous red ribbon on her tail to distract from the lack of tail !!

You'd do better just sticking with half a tail. By using a ribbon you're telling the judge that the horse kicks, and as that's a vice any judge worth their salt would mark you down for it.

sweet itch combined with an infection combined with antibiotics .... enough to do any itchy pony in

it is quite bad i'm afraid. not just 'rubbed a bit off the top of the tail' but all down the tailbone has bold patches and cuts on it it is basically reduced to a very thin, straggly whisp (exmoors dont come with such bushy tails anyway ...)
