Gutted!!!

I am not going to the Royal Lancs show, Crystal is now confined to her stable for 3 weeks...sprained tendon, due to pratting around inthe field on hard ground! 12 months hard work down the drain, really upset, and feel like quitting!

You sound like a spoilt child! There are plenty of other shows to go to. its not 12months down the drain at all, all that work that you have put it isnt lost, you will just have to pick it up again after she is better. It could have been worse.

Excuse me Jay but Ems is far from being a spoilt brat! And I should know I'm her mother! How dare you make assumptions on that post. She is gutted as she has put in 12 months of very hard work to get this mare ready for this show, it is Crystals last appearance at a major county show and we wanted to retire at the home show! I resent very much you comments on my daughter sho you don't know from Adam!

Sorry to hear about the show Emma, I know how much you were looking forward to going (and I even got the breeches to you in time!)

Look on the brightside, there will be another show you can do fab in

I know and Ems is gutted but she gets to ride and compete another day, plenty more shows and plenty more chances, just she worked so hard for this one but not this time!

Chick the breeches are lovely, if the payment hasn't reached you then please let me know and I will get Ems to resend it. xxxxxxxxxxxx

sorry you are missing her finale but at least it wasn't worse, i.e. a broken leg.

it's very disappointing when things don't go right but I tend to take the view that well it could have been worse.

It could have been a lot worse, yes, Big Ears. However, Iam under the vets instructions not to retire the old girl yet, as she is a lot healthier than some others who are half her age! So there is another season or two with her, just to prove to everyone she is not the retiring type! Vet says she is an oldie, but a goodie as well!

always next year and if she enjoys work then best to keep her at it as they often go downhill when they stop.

How old is Crystal?

It is a shame that you've missed out on that show, but I'm sure Crystal doesn't care much. And they'll always be another one. I think disappointment is one of the first feelings you have to accept when getting involved in horses - they always go wrong at the worst time by our expectations! Or better still, never make any solid plans. Then they can't let us down

Kyanya, Crystal is 20, acts like 20 months, and is now totally sound. I trotted her up for the vet this morning, and she is 100% sound as a bell, it was a bruised hoof, but she had hot legs, so he thought it was a tendon! She is fine now, but it was too hot anyway today, she would not have enjoyed it!

Jen MM and me have been at the show all day, doing the health and safety stewarding. makes an interesting change to be on the 'other side' of things for a change! Had a great day, saw some lovely horses, but forgot the camera!
