MEME! How could you???? Just logged back in after two days training to find... the secret's out of the bag.
The cunning plan was to keep this very quiet (only Novicenic knew) and tell people if and only if it went OK.. but now.. This is my very first ridden anything at a showground, so really "nervous" doesn't come close. Terrified would be more like it. The theory is that doing my first ever ridden class as a pair would make it easier. What I hadn't reckoned with was the fear of letting Chelle down, as we are a lot more novicey than her.
I haven't ridden since Monday, having been away with work, although my sharer has ridden Sennie and YM lunged him yesterday for me.
So, a lot of practice this evening and tomorrow, and a bit of test learning.
Thanks though Chelle, for doing it with me. I guess there might be one or two photos and now the cat's well and truly out of the bag, if anyone in Essex would like to come and say Hello... I'm the green one with the terrified expression on the adorable (but bolshy) bay section d.

Honestly Caz, there is nothing to let down, I dont know where you get the idea from that me and Zak are so good
Its abit of fun, its a low key show, and its for your confidence, and you WILL enjoy it.
There really is no need to get yourself worried about letting people down etc, there is no pressure, its just about confidence building and having fun

Doing stuff in pairs is good fun, even if it all goes wrong (which I'm sure it won't) you can have a laugh with each other. Enjoy!!

Thanks for the good wishes everyone. We had a practice this morning, which, amazingly, didn't go too badly. He didn't die on the corners anyway, which is a start.
Our time is 12.20, so any NR finger crossing at that time would be much appreciated.

Hehe just havent warned her that I havent practiced the test at all , and by the way guys Sennie and Zak have never met, likewise me and Caz have never met one another's horses, and we HAVE NOT practiced together, and I've been competing allday at Oldencraig with Zakky Wakky today in the rain aswell
But none the less, Im sure we will do well, I have 2hrs between Safi's test and the pairs to learn it, which takes me about 5 mins with most tests if that (just aswell I learnt one last week in 5 mins as Amy missed calling a part of it ), nah seriously it will be great fun and will all go according to plan, which is fantastic!
Then after that Im gonna show inhand and probarbly go ass over on the wet ground

Just to let everyone know I decided when getting up and looking at the weather this morning, pouring rain and windy, not to go. I just think for my first go ridden outdoors in a show I've got enought to worry about, and I'd rather it was at least dry.
Shame, as believe it or not, I'd actually started to look forward to it. I'd learnt the test and prectised on Sennie until he wasn't perfect, but not too bad I thought. Never mind, I suppose at least I have clean tack and an immaculate show kit for next time.
Chelle is going anyway and I'm looking forward to hearing how she does. Very well, I'm sure

What a shame love. I didnt bother with my show today as it has silled it down with rain the last 2 days/nights. I dont like to jump when it is slippy as I am frightened of Captain falling. The way I see it there are plenty of dry days to come to enter when I feel more confident. There is no point in going if you are going to be more stressed by the weather so I think you made a good decision.

Oh Caz, just the fact that you intended to do the pairs deserves a medal in my book! It's a shame the rain changed plans, but you were right to think first time out shouldn't be handicapped by the conditions
At least you've had a practice run-up, kind of thing
Wonder how MeMe's getting on ? Hope we get to see some pics!

Well I can't say I blame you. Just simply riding in this weather at the moment is a feat in itself, without having to contend with all the hustle and bustle of a show!
If I'd plucked up the courage to do something outdoors today and had woken up to this weather, I'd have made exactly the same decision

We went and we got wet No pics as it was far to wet, dident even get video'd in the morning, although by the time the pairs came it was dry, which we ended up doing (minus Caz) but that got video'd.
I had the Walk and Trot on Safi in the morning, for which it was cold and wet, we came 4th though on 69.47%
Then a couple of hours later was the pairs time, I had Zak there and had already decided not to show him inhand, due to the judge, knew it wouldent be worth me taking ANYTHING in the ring under her, so showing Safi inhand went out the window to. So Amy partnered Safi and we done the pairs Coming 5th on 66.88%
Safi done the Novice Riding Horse/Pony was pulled in 2nd, but the winner was NOT a novice and upon lots of moaning and lots of people saying its wrong, she ended up being awarded a 1st place rossette, however it wasent in the ring, it was later on.
But in everyone's eyes she won the class She was a good girl and we are proud of her
I also competed Zak at Oldencraig yesterday, we done P16 and came 9th on 58% not one of our best, but not bad. And also done P13 for the first time and came 11th on 58.95%, with a canter break and it rained for both my tests and Amy's quite hard!
Amy took Git in the same classes on Sat and came 3rd in the P16 on 65% and 2nd in the 13 with 70.41% her personal best And at a place like that, it was fantastic.
We are not out next weekend, taking the boys for a hack around either Thorndon Park, or Hockley woods, out on the 27th most likely to Norton Heath, although Oldencraig is on on the 26th, so we are contemplating that, but NH is Trailblazers, but we both already have prelim and novice tickets for next year
Such a shame Caz decided not to do it, but I fully understand, but I WILL get you in that ring

Well done you, Chelle. Fab marks for Safi, and really winning the Novice showing class.
Well done for doing the pairs anyway. Did you remember the test. I assume you did given those marks, and coming 5th.
Would love to see any pics.
