hiya
i' no exper but he looks like he's got a rather shotrt back in some of those pics and lancky legs but thats just on the one where youre sitting down
although when you actualy do the line from his back hoof to his front leg it ends well under his knee so imao his conformation is good
you cant realy tell from those pics though
he looks gorgeous in the ridden one what breed is he??

Wow that quite a bit of feed. Gaetano has highfi and high fiber cubes by the handfull rather than the scoop. He looks like a typical short coupled Anglo

He's certainly a very attractive looking horse overall-He is a lovely cololur and carries a good head but none of the pictures you have put up are very good for a true conformational crtique. In all of them he looks to be short in the shoulder, with a rather weak neck and somewhat lacking in substance-but none of the pictures are in the least flattering to what is probably a very nice horse indeed.
If you really want a proper critque you need to get a photograph of him without tack, standing sidewise to the camera, well stood up, on level ground with all his legs in full view with all four feet square onthe ground, with his head straight ahead of his body.

He's got a pretty head, but as rinzarider said, you can't really see enough of him to discuss his conformation. One good photo would be better than half a dozen headshots, or ones where he's resting a leg.
Short back, nice deep girth, not a lot of bone; he looks nice in the ridden one, but you both seem a bit tense and he's not really going forward.

Agree with all posts relating to types of photo, try to get a friend to stand him up so that you can see all 4 legs without having to go round to the other side. Also it helps if a third person shakes a bucket or something to get an alert interested look! From what I could see he looks in good condition for his breed, and maybe a little roached in the back? Pic at clear round is lovely!

thankyou all, im on a mission to get some good pics lol!! #
thanks, but i really didnt ask for a critique on my riding, i am a tad insecure when that kind of thing happens yes i was tense there, after just trying to win the cup for clear rounds, and he can be strong lol.
short backed? whats the advantages/*** of that then? ever so not knowledgable in this departure, so when you point somthing please explain in detail for my pea size brain to understant lol

Your horse has a very nice head, with a quite even marking. Nice big ears which commonly is a sign of a genuine horse. And a kind eye. If your friend buys and sells horses she probably said your horse has a good head as some horses have quite a plain head and if you have a lot of horses to remember for example at sales a nice looking head will stick in your memory! I am quite a frequent buyer at sales so even leg / face markings help you remember horses!
Short backs are usually stronger as seen in cobs. Sometimes short backs make saddle fitting difficult as there is physically not enough room for a decent sized saddle. And sometimes a very short back can cause overreach problems as the front legs can't get out of the way before the back legs come, as a longer back would allow. Also sometimes a short back is coupled with an upright shoulder and pastern, which gives a short choppy stride.
Hope this helps!
