Horsey New Year's Resolutions

Get out more with Neala and do more long lining this year ready for next year's sit on her :)

Do more walking with Torin and get the weight off him!

I would like to enter a prelim! Getting placed would be the dream but I would just be happy if we managed one accurately

So how are we all doing? 4 months to go!

My goals were:

Get the girls riding Oscar confidently - Huge tick, hurrah.
Do an ODE on Cally: I've done 3!!
Get Xav going nicely: we have done that too and he was far enough along to be sold on.

So my new goals till the end of the year...
Get Oscar sound again. (Pretty please)
Compete Cally over an 80cm course
Get Dylan moving forward freely and enter him in a x-pole class.

I don't think the cob has made any. :)

I would like to find a fallen tree or something similar to jump over. She would be up for that.

Possibly do a horse camp, or just go away somewhere with her on our own or with company. She would be up for that to, she was really good on her first one.

Jump the filler I bought on her not just lunge. She would be up for that as well :)

Managed one of them in March.

I've sort of achieved mine! Won a combined training class, am consistently showjumping at 80cms, and have competed in XC. But haven't done as many competitions as I planned as have been busy with work and kids and things. Goals for the end of the year are to do another couple of ODEs, a sponsored ride (and do all the jumps) and teach my kids to ride!

I have just looked at my list and I have ticked some off:D;)
Good thing riding every day in SUMMER was not on the list :(. With it being so so hot .

I have continued to eat pretty well;)
I DROVE TO GODDARD PARK:):D AND IT WAS NOT THAT BAD.;)
I have not gotten to Myles Standish yet :( They have a turkey trot im the fall:)
I wont get to the Pomfret Hunter pace:( but I did the APPLE KNOLL ONE;)
The Marshfield Fair Versatility its this weekend I wont get to that :( but have done several others:):D
We have not gotten back to Nanonet Forest but we did ride the very long very narrow bridges at
Borderland.:D
I wont get Andi to a versatility yet:(
I think this is the best of all gotten over to ride at what will be the NEW PROPERTY:):););):D:D:D
I have had fun with my horses and goats and have the 3 new little cuties :D:D:D:D:):):););)

Overall I am not dissapointed in my list;)

You and I need to swap Ale, I have a sound horse who I am to lame to ride, you are a sound rider with a lame horse :-(

Gosh I would love to ride her, she looks lovely!

Seriously I can't even see myself riding at all in the near future. Lack of time and money is going to hold me back. I love ale I just never thought I would be in this situation so soon. I'd love to get a horse on loan but I pay about £400 a month for ale doubling that takes away nearly all my earnings :O

Wow Ale where is he kept? I am blessed with my place. It's a nominal amount as I'm a family friend, your area is expensive generally?

I'm in SW London and the yard is in Surrey. So yes a very expensive area. I pay £200 for DIY. Everything is more expensive here even vets!!

Just adding to this. It's also interesting to see how some people's horses have changed.

This achievement wasn't on my list as I hadn't really thought about it.
Today mine went up front to lead the ride briefly. Got a nice steady trot including the usual weave, a gate, weave, birds flying, weave, another gate-exactly as she does solo!
It was her idea to go on and usually I am particular about her having ideas about the pace, but she was showing confidence so I allowed it. Next time at that spot I will ask before she trots on.

Hack as much as I can manage without becoming a nervous mess.

Move ale to the yard of our dreams and give him the life he deserves aka living out with no gypsies and nice places to have a canter!

So much has changed this year but it makes me so happy to realise I have achieved these things!!!

Ale is now at a safe and suitable yard where I can manage how he is kept and he seems really happy!

And I'm hacking on my share as much as I can and gaining confidence to canter and ride in groups.

I am back plodding. We are very low key:D:p I am happy with pootling about the field. I still feel very lucky to have that after her on and off lameness. I love hearing about other folks riding too tho. Well done to everyone who gets out and about:)

I can't find my list, but I'm pretty sure it was to 1) improve my jumping and 2) buy my own horse

1) Well its improved a bit and I've been out and had some fun jumping in Ireland and at a local riding camp.
2) Bought one, sold him, bought another one.
