Maybe possibly getting a new horse

I'm looking at a coloured Irish gelding tomorrow, 15.1, from a reputable dealer. He looks lovely - I have a thing for coloured horses - and is said to be a great little jumper.

She has third party insurance through my insurer but would sharers need to insure themselves as well?

Horse I saw yesterday was no good - far too green on the flat. Posting my wish list in case anyone wishes to assist with my horse shopping or knows of something that might suit! I'm open-minded do it's not set in stone but also fussy! Will travel up to 100 miles. Budget up to £5k.

Must haves:
Established flatwork
Jumping at least 90cms
Good manners
15hh-16.1hh
7 to 11 years old
No vices/health problems

Desirable:
Gelding
Ability to live out
Coloured (not a huge fan of greys or bays)

I'm not a fan of feathery chunky types. I like Connemaras and Irish Sports Horses and I do like a quirky marking!
TIA!

If you are prepared to get a cheap Ryan air flight into Galway I can almost guarantee this extremely respected and reputable horse producer/dealer could find something that ticks 99 per cent of the boxes. They regularly post online videos of their training methods and step by step details of each horse's introduction to ridden work. Very reassuring and very professional and a nice combination of traditional and 'natural' training methods IMO..

That's a great idea. I've actually never been to Ireland so it would be a fab weekend break too.

I think I've written about them before for H&H - a riding holiday article. Great reviews they have!

Yes and a fabulous place to stay - I had a German friend go there for a riding holiday a couple of years back.....she has been several times now, almost her second home!

Without a doubt, if I were ever in the market for another horse I would be giving them my wish list. But that is extremely unlikely now, so I just recommend them to other people.:)
