Riding holiday

So I've been riding as regularly as I can for a few months now and loving it!! Whilst the riding school I use is great, they don't really offer anything in the way of horse care lessons which is a real shame. So I've been having a look around and found a school offering a two day riding holiday for all abilities with loads of hands on experience in grooming, tacking etc for what I'd call a very reasonable price.
Would this be worth doing or are these type of things a bit gimmicky and aimed at holidaymakers more than people actually wanting to learn?

Is there an own pony for the day near you?
Or does this school offer stable management without the holiday? That would work out cheaper and you would learn just as much in stable care etc.

An actual holiday would class you as a beginner.
It depends what its offering. If it's just everyday riding your school offers I wouldn't do it. But experience days that offers me something different I would.

I've looked around locally but can't find anything like an own a pony day for adults. I don't mind the extra expense of the holiday bit as a couple of days away is always welcome, especially if with like minded people!
It appeals because they encourage you to spend as much time on the yard as possible, I believe even the accommodation is above the stables! I'm not too bothered about the riding aspect, I can get my fix at home. I'd just really like to learn what's involved in the day to day of keeping horses.

Maybe flick them an email, explain your background, where you are at and what you are hoping for and see what they have to say. Ultimately you can read a book about horse care, but nothing substitutes for riding and interacting with all different types and you will certainly get that experience going somewhere new.

I did a week at Wheal Buller in Cornwall (https://www.cornishridingholidays.co.uk/). Five hours of "lessons" a day which could be riding or stable management (and you could hack too). I tried long reining, and we had a lesson on how to put rugs on and take them off. So I'd say there are definitely holidays like that that aren't a gimmick. I had a great time, learnt a lot, and would definitely recommend that sort of holiday (and Wheal Buller)

I've also done a holiday at Wheal Buller and had the best time ever. As well as hacking, I did long-reining, Western, bareback, mane plaiting and lots more. Accommodation is very basic but the food was absolutely fabulous. Highly recommended!
