Oh yes - I pretty much landed on my feet.

He never really seems to have settled after I moved him so I'm hoping that when he moves to his new stables he will improve. If not I'm probably going to sell him as he is getting to be too challenging/restrictive for me to ride and in a lot of respects he is getting worse. I'm sure he would be fine with a strong experienced rider.

I didn't know you were moving again, lets hope he settles nicely. Sorry to hear he's been daft - it's annoying when there are things you want to do but can't - and also it can knock confidence too. He looks such a nice horse, and you look great on him. Lots of vibes he comes good again for you.

Yes - his stables are being sold and the yard owner is going to new stables which have got pretty much no hacking, so I've got to move whatever happens. I've found somewhere new for him and it looks like we will be moving in a fortnight - watch this space!

Since i last posted... 30 mon bareback strolls around the front fields, far too hot tack uo and make him lug me around the country side, so just did some slow stuff to keep him ticking over... This morning a 5.22 mile hack, set off at just gone 7am to beat the heat and theflies it was perfect! Seen deer, foxes and it was so quiet and peaceful out!

Last weekend was my third trip to the Lincomb Riding Camp (my second with Harvey). We went over on Thursday evening and Harvey settled in his stable well while I had a Pilates lesson (he did get taken out to graze in hand for a couiple of hours).

Friday was flatwork and polework. Harvey tried hard and I was really pleased with him in the polework - our training has really paid off. Saturday was gridwork and XC technique. He did well in both. Sunday was XC and SJ. He was a bit too overexcited in the XC but did well in SJ despite the heat. I'm going to try and write a bit more detail in the main forum.

I've spent this week working out my total hacking miles for 2018 .... so far we've ridden 272.8 miles.

I'm no longer counting lunging/schooling as I'm hopeless at keeping count, but tracking hacking as we are takimg part in a challenge to ride 1000 miles by the end of next April. Unlikely to manage the full mileage (damn working full time ...!) but interested to see how far we can get :)

Just a few snaps from my recent hacks:

Even since I had my share horse I have wanted to visit a local pay to ride course (http://www.parkfarmchasers.org.uk/course_long.php). At the start of the year I booked and paid for a fun ride there in mid July, but its only a week after Harvey moves and it wil now be 60 miles each way :( We have a new livery who I get on well with, but she has no transport (shame I am moving and won't see her again :( )
Anyway we decided that we despite the hear we would have a trip out, We managed to get away from the yard and were riding well before 10.
It was a really nice ride - the ground was a bit hard, but better than most places and we managed a few canters and a bit of jumping.

On Sunday I planned on a short realxing walk round the block before it got too hot. Sadly Harvey had different ideas and took exception to a milk crate in a drive half way round. It took 15 minutes to get past it, so I ended up very hot.

Not a bad view
