Question in title really.

Does it make a difference to yours. Do you feed it?

Mine are fine on it, & Jim is a horse that tends to hot up very easily if I get his feed wrong. I think the problem maybe arises when people swap hay for haylage but don't reduce hard feed - all of a sudden there are a lot more calories going in & that can make some horses excitable.

Mind you Little Un does get very excited if he sees a net of haylage heading his way - there's much squeakig and bouncing :giggle:

Toby is being fed a locally produced haylage as he loses so much weight in the winter. It's not made a jot of difference to him in terms of excitability! if anything he's calmer as he's not rake thin.

All three of mine get ad lib haylage, I cant say it bothers any of them but I have had one horse who does get excited on it but it was very high protein haylage at the time.
