Pigging abscesses!

Hank has had 1 or 2, I've never seen him lame from them, just see them growing out. Even if Jess does go lame it's only a day or two before she's back to work as once they've popped it doesn't hurt any more as the pressure is relieved. One that Jess had that made her lame and the vet dug for took forever to heal and even with a drain it tracked up her leg and came out half way between the fetlock and knee, she was off for 4 weeks for that one and even after that she was tender footed around the drain for ages.

So the chunk of wall finally got so loose I decided it was time to remove it, There was a tiny bit about 4mm x 1mm holding it on at the front. I think it is super interesting in that you can see the laminae inside the foot there. Amazingly she has been 100% sound throughout this, and continues to be even with it missing, unfortunately it has destabilized the foot a little and the heel is trying to underrun again but hopefully now the back of the missing chunk is on the ground it will gradually get better :)
