Bit of good news for once, yes GOOD news about sox!!:D:D:D:D
Vet came down today to redo his bloods for the cushings, while she was here she looked at his weight and said we would see him trot up after, ok...
Came to trotting up... Vet said no hoof boots. I was unsure how he would be. Took him on the soft ( grass) trotted up back and fourth. Sound as a flipping pound!!:D:D E couldn't believe it and took a video, sending it to a senior vet who did sox's MRI last year. Then E said to try him on the hard. eekk! I was unsure, thinking it will show up. So off we trotted down the stoney track, barefoot! I asked the vet her thoughts and out of 10. She said less then 1/10!:D
Then what she said was quite scary, had I listened ' Just think, 8 months ago we were talking about when to put him to sleep':(
God.. Don't I remember that well. Every conservation ' We're running out of options'... 'He has been lame for 6 months now. If he was going to come sound you would have expected an improvement by now'..Or just before the MRI I called the vet out as he was hopping lame ' The chances of him coming back sound lauren are very slim':(

Yes I remember them conservations well!! I lost count the amount of times I sobbed on his neck after each vet visit, sobbed while the vet was there or sobbed when I got home. Hoping that I wouldn't have to make the choice I know all horse owners have to do at some stage. But I didn't want to make that choice when sox was only 10.

God. I am so so pleased I carried on. Love the big giraffe:D

Why was he actually lame? I agree our vet expected an improvement after some box rest. If not then it was MRI as last resort though.

He is a lovely looking horse! I do adore a big white face!

So pleased for you. I have a horse written off as LOU at 7, and he has kissing spine as well as navicular. Took a good 2 years but he is still leading an active life, including jumping, and is going to be 16 next year. What I am trying to say is he hopefully will get even better than he is now!
