Last year's blog was a big help to me so I though I'd start another one for the new year!

Last year had it's ups and down weight loss wise and sad to say mainly gains for me! But that's all behind me and now I am flipping determined to change my lifestyle for the better! I turn 29 this year and I don't want to be in my current situation when I hit 30.

Operation Fit for Thirty starts now!

I have opted to follow Weight Watchers again as this was the most successful route for me with steady and regular weight loss. I'd love for my weight to decrease rapidly overnight but that's never going to happen! Slow and steady wins the race and as I have a lot of weight to lose, I'm hoping that a gradual loss will also help me change my whole eating habits for the better in the long run.

I will admit I did look into meal replacement as my willpower with food is not brilliant, but I'm scared to loose a lot of weigh quickly and be left with lots of sagging skin :frown: I don't want to have to have plastic surgery! Not for me.

I digress, this week has been a very good start. OH has been supportive and we have been taking Jasper out for extra long walks in the evening, which is earning around 3 activity points! Although I am determined not to use these extra points as I feel it defeats the purpose of exercise! Without great difficulty (so far!) I have been actively swapping junk for healthier alternatives and feeling the benefits! Hoping I can keep this momentum going.

I have worked out that it is 14 weeks until my birthday, which if I can have a steady loss of 2lbs per week would mean I'd be 2 stone lighter! This would be amazing but even 1 stone off by then will feel great.

Here's to a healthier 2014!

I'm starting a healthier 2014 after my birthday on the 28th of Jan.

Need to start eating healthier and more regular meals (things like marshmallows are not acceptable dinner)

And fitness wise I'm doing the London to Brighton bike ride (50miles) and a half marathon so that's something to work towards, I haven't run in a few months so that will be fun!

I am doing my usual on going thing - trying hard not to eat rubbish but to stick to Mr T's lovely offerings with no snacks inbetween!!
I still maintain that for me personally having an empty cupboard does not work. I immediately get the desire to visit the nearest shop and stock up on treats! So for now I am sticking with keeping the cupboard full, so far it has worked for over a month and I still don't feel the need to pork out on forbidden items.....

We are trying to be inventive and work our way through everything that's in the cupboards and freezer, by cooking new and sometimes strange concoctions that turn out quite nice!

We end up buying the same things every time we go shopping and end up with duplicates of some items. So hoping to save some money by shopping less frequently (working well so far) and actually eating healthily instead of just conveniently.

I'm thinking of trying a personal training session at my gym, I struggle to do an effective workout and just end up doing the same thing. My problem is I need to do exercise that's quite low impact as my left leg is weak and has various problems! I'm not brave enough to start swimming again until I've lost a bit of the belly! :frown:

Ive started weight watchers too but had a couple of bad days and have put a couple of lbs back on. I have started back on plan this morning as I want to loose a stone by valentines day and have lost 8 lbs (well had before I binged) so I have 6 in about a month to hit my goal.

I have been following the 5:2 plan since the 6th January. During that time i have lost a total of 11lbs :wavespin:. This week i had my 5th fast day - no issues as per. Tomorrow is fast number 6 & i feel no trepidation

To date i forsee no issues - probably because its just for a day & because i can eat lots of normal yummy grub on non fast days.. I feel that this is "becoming" (as lets face it still in the early stages) part of my life. On non fast days i am consuming around 1800/1900 calories so there is still a deficit (albeit a teeny one) .

I have also been walking home for evening per week -which is 5.5 miles in total/ 3 of which are uphill (sheffield = hilliest city in the land :mask::skull:) .

Good luck losers !!

Definitely good exercise walking around Sheffield! I've been to the Children's hospital a couple of times this month with my Sister and Niece, pushing a pram up those hills as well really gets the muscles working! :hot:

Sounds like we all have a plan - I am thinking of digging my mountain bike back out - tho last time I fell off it!!!! Oh dear.

1.6lbs down yay! I was dreading the scales as OH and I went away for the weekend and ate all the things we shouldn't! The extra long dog walks paid off and Jasper is very happy about it!

Bit of a bad start to the week too, so the bad eating may still catch up with me but doing better now I'm back at work. It's much easier during the week when I prepare everything beforehand!

Brilliant!!!!!

I have lost 9 in 3 weeks, then put on 2. I had a mini choccy binge last night. I still haven't shifted the 2 I have put on and had a hard day at the yard

I haven't weighed myself for ages, but (touches wood) all of my tightest jeans are loose atm, plus I can wear my jodhs I wore when at my slimmest, so I think I am still going the right way. What I have started doing also is if say I have a pudding one day then the next I will just eat less of everything. Tbh, my portions were far too big, it's surprising how I am getting used to smaller ones.

This is my aim too Trews, currently have cake in front of me! So tomorrow will be much healthier to compensate. I have also started eating from a small bowl or plate to reduce portion size, also taking a leaf from Paul McKenna, and trying to only eat when hungry and to stop when I start to feel full.

I am on a major healthy eating/lifestyle change after a good friend of mine had a heart attack last week aged only 41. He has no choice but to change his ways, and it has given me the kick up the backside I need to change mine as well. I am not massively overweight, but I could easily shift 2 stone.

Another factor which makes me want to do it is watching how slim some of the girls are at the dressage competitions. I felt really fat in comparison and I want to be like them.

My plan is simple. Eat very little fatty food and lots of healthy food. The hard part is in the evenings when I become picky. I feel myself wanting to pick at something and have to fight to stop myself.

Im planning on competing in a concourse comp in may. Im dot on 15 st and would like to shift a stone and a half before then. I dont want to be the fat bird on an asbo cob looking like a frilly turkey
