Sorry moaning again.. pulled a muscle in my chest wall they think, gosh the pain is terrible, it does come and go, but when it comes it takes my breath away, hard to even move

Anyone done this before? Any advice?

I'm still working as per usual, can't abandon box rest pony so still mucking him out twice a day, bed needs a new bale, I have put it off as long as I can but must man up and do it tonight. No one is able to give me a lift either so still cycling, it could be worse I know but argh this is not fun. Hope it heals soon!

You really should not be cycling atm - is there no way either of your parents can give you a lift? Believe me, these things do not get better unless you listen to your body, pain is telling you not to do something! Please don't think you are being soft either, I can imagine the pain you are in, not nice. Is there an option for full livery or assisted? It would be worth shelling out in the long run.
Gentle healing vibes to you.

I could pay the yard but last time they did him they used whole bale of shavings up in one day and forgot to give him lunch! Usual lady is away.

I might try and convince someone at the yard to drive me even part way home not sure I will make it otherwise lol.

Sounds like a bruised rib to me (have had a few of those!). Have you been checked out by anyone?

If you know a friendly physic or chiropractor see if they can apply Magic Fingers to you. This is stretchy, very sticky bandage which is cut into fine strips and applied like a holding hand around the damaged area. It's very supportive and reduces the pain straight away. When Ziggy stepped on me and bruised my ribcage and diaphragm very severely, the Magic Fingers made me feel so much more comfortable!

And I echo what people say about not cycling. Sorry

I had a very similar pain, it turned out to be pluerisy and that was painful:redface:

You should not be doing so much, but sounds like you dont have any alternatives

Well it has been a very long day! Painfully cycling home at half 7 this evening and I found a poor cat that had been hit by a car. Got it out the road, tried to make it comfy, knocked on a few doors, no owner, frantically rang round everyone I knew trying to get a lift to out of hours vet, eventually managed to get hold of my bf sister who is a vet nurse and 10 mins later she was there to take me and cat to the vet. Cradled the poor thing on the drive there.

Have just got back from the cinema now and recieved a text from the owner thanking me and letting me know the kitty is badly injured but stable. Got everything crossed!!!

Was a distraction from the pain but poor poor thing

Awwe bless you Ale, thank goodness you found the kitty. Have my fingers crossed. Take it easy, easier said then done I know!

Ouch, I'm guessing you have an intercostal muscle strain (from my days coding in the NHS I know a lot of people are taken to A&E with suspected heart attacks only to find they have strained an intercostal muscle). Very painful condition, some people are completely laid up with it, so I think you are being very brave!

What a good samaritan looking after the kitty too, nice of the owner to ring and let you know how it is. I hit a cat in the car once, I know I hit it but couldn't find it anywhere and always wondered what happened to it and whether anyone found it before it was too late.

You were very good to sort the cat out - and it was nice to hear from the owners too. Really hoping you heal soon - sending you lots of strong Lancashire healing vibes.

First off great news! Pheobe the cat is making a great recovery and should be able to go home soon :)

I however am not doing so well. Went back to the doctors Fri and they think it may be stomach acid or the beginnings of an ulcer so am on some meds now to try and help. But spent all day today feeling awful, I've got a cold now too! struggled through most of work and they let me go home an hour early thankfully and my mum has done ale for me so off to bed now. Will struggle through tomorrow aswell I'm sure

Need to be better by thurs as have a second interview for that job I applied for, thanks for all the good vibes xx

That's great news about the cat! Shame about you though - so sorry to hear that. Doctors thought I had an ulcer a couple of years back - he referred me to a specialist and I got on some Omeperazole tablets which transformed the pain and after a couple of months I was back to normal. The pain from it was incredible, I struggled to muck out at times - it wasn't an ulcer but (had a barium x ray) but even if it had been the tabs would have cleared it up he said. Try not to worry and take it easy (if you can). Acid reflux (which is what I was diagnosed with in the end) is horrible when severe. Try and be kind to yourself. Glad you've got a second interview too, will keep everything crossed for you!

That fills me with hope as it is Omeperazole I am on now! Fingers crossed it starts feeling better soon and really hope the second interview goes well! Thankyou

That's great that you've been given Omeperazole from the start. I had to endure a month of drugs that didn't work before the specialist got it right - my gp tried a course of different tabs first and only when the specialist saw me and prescribed those did things come right. HOpefully for you it will pass quickly.
