The senior contingent of our employers were away for a fortnight and came back late Monday afternoon. Yesterday morning I had a phone call at 7.15am.... "Jane.... your ponies are in our front garden" Oops!
Turns out that the posts holding up the stock fencing to keep them out were all rotten so it had only taken one hearty shove for the whole lot to keel over and for them to neatly side-step over it. Now repaired!!! Ponies are on limited rations so the lure of their lush, green lawn was obviously too great!
I just couldn't believe the timing..... any day of the past fortnight the ponies could have escaped and the employers would have been none the wiser, but oh no.... they wait for them to come back for maximum impact!!!
