... and ended up very embarrassed and had a few fits of the giggles because of my hopelessness!!!

It was called core stability and I thought since I ride I wouldn't find it too difficult. It was much harder than I imagined but I really enjoyed it and I can see how it will really help my core muscles if I stick at it so I'm looking forward to keeping that going.

Thats normally me giggling away in the back, its good you found it challenging tho or it really would have been boring.

Is this similar to pilates/yoga? I have tried a pilates class and my balance was truly awful ! I also once did a yoga class (when it became fashionable in the uk - probs about 10 years ago). I farted my way through the class. It was very embarrassing and i never went back.

I would like to try Yoga again one day - just need to A - Fit a suitable class & B - Muster up the courage

It is on an exercise ball. Doing something like pilates (which I'm hopefully going to start at the weekend) will help with it, I suppose it is similar in that it will work on your core muscles, balance and coordination. The instructor who does it also teaches pilates. I'm going to yoga tonight actually... (I will try not to eat any gassy foods before I go!).
