Did you see about the pony that was attacked by a boxer on the beach, where the 9yo rider then fell off?

https://www.grimsbytelegraph.co.uk/news/grimsby-news/dog-attacks-horse-cleethorpes-beach-2390963 there is a video of it all happening, poor kind and poor pony.

Jess is very wary after several run-ins with dogs over the years, the first was the worst when she was not even 2, the neighbours racing greyhounds got out one night and I found her in the morning with her face/nose shredded from bites, innocent and dosey then she probably stuck her nose into them because she was used to my lab and Jack Russell who were fine  since then the slightest run-in just sets her back and even if they are just whizzy around her she will try and stomp on them (including my own dogs who she saw daily) :( I bet this poor kid will be pretty nervous after that, and maybe the pony too though the owner says it happens regularly

Blimey. Poor little lass and the pony.

This made me mad.....

Sophie said the owner did nothing to try to bring the dog under control and it was another dog walker who managed to grab it, put a lead on it and return it to its owner.

She added: "He hadn't wanted to go after his dog because he had smart trainers on and had not wanted to get them wet."

Words fail

In another report it said someone had asked him to call the dog back and he replied 'No' and carried on walking. It's disgusting, estimated in his 60's he really ought be old enough to know how is appropriate to behave!

Really shocking video - owner should definitely be pursued over this. Poor child and pony. I'm in the new forest, and have to say 99.9% of dog walkers are brilliant. Still had a few heel snappers over the years though!

What about injury to the horses themselves? if it was biting them, then any vet bills would go to the owner of the dog. It was clearly out of control. One hoof to the head and the dog would be dead. Would he still be worried about his smart trainers?
