2019 Hacking/Riding Thread

Success! Well maybe not quite but progress. Lunged the ginger lad again last night and he seem much more receptive and was actually listening instead of trying to eat grass all the time. Plus no spooking at the invisible bush ghosts.............................. :)
I'll pay your air fare and you can pop down and lunge Hogan ..... ;)

Back out this evening for around an hour or so went further ached less.... I am getting braver each hack which is making me a better braver rider I think I am less scared on the road now.... we have to pass a small village school where children are often playing footy..... butthe ponies don’t mind to be honest we hardly ever get a spook. I know I am so , so lucky to have Melody to ride. ❤❤❤❤
She looks SO mellow!

Woo hoo weather is breaking I have not done any more riding yet but Im legging him up every am and doing lots of play.
I will be soooo glad for the first frost this EEE thing is becoming more and more scary.

They did spray this area earlier this week the first time since 1996.
We saw one of the passes ..the lights of the plane... it flew over treetop level
and then banked hard over the arena. I don't think it actually flew over the house.
Ma was supposed to go a big round of spraying on the border a couple days later.
I got my set of patterns for this round ohh its going to be fun.
clothes line gates with clothes.. water.. bridges.. raised sidepass poles..
etc.
My husband got my BRIDGE finished the other nite FINALLY.

Its big and heavy so it really cant be moved so I talked him into ****2**** narrower
BRIDGES

Our anniversary is coming so timing to get 2... was GOOD hes working on one now
one will be 25 % narrower and the other 50 % narrower.
I played with Sonny this am on the original one but its down on the other side of the property and the obstacles have to be done in order so I really need one up at the arena where I have close water source.
I bought a sandbox turtle yeserday for the water crossing.

It was actualy quite chilly this am woo hoo Ill take it.

The bridge has a small tetter totter to it.99807
I can add a bigger pivot later.

Woo hoo the second bridge IS AWESOME.
It just got finished and placed and we played with it.
I also did some dry play with the turtle. I have to move it to the arena so I did not
put water in it yet.
I also played with the clothesline gate.

She said to walk thru have the back legs in and hold for the 10 seconds.

This set of challenges will be such fun..

Do ever have those days where you spend so much time helping other people it seems you have non left for yourself? Saturday was a bit like that. I started with poo picking, grooming and feeding the foster ponies, then off to my own yard to muck out. I then mentored our groom for jumping practice. After that time for lunch (mid afternoon by now!) followed by mentoring the groom on the yards new project pony. I then squeezed in 30 minutes in the school to ride myself popping a few jumps on Harvey, followed by poo picking for the 8 yard ponies (horses) (with some help)

My lorry has broken down yet again but on Sunday I was able to borrow YOs lorry to go to a local fun ride. My OH is still recovering from her op so I had to go on my own, but I had arranged to meet a lady I have ridden with before. YOs lorry has no tie ups and Harvey travels well but doesn't like standing on the box so I needed a bit of help!

Harvey was a bit over excited so I was only marginally in control a lot of the time but we both had fun. The official photographer took a nice pic of Harvey raring to get to the fence which I have bought but it hasn't arrived yet.

Going home nearly got exciting when the satnav tried to direct me down some tiny backstreets in Stratford Upon Avon (in a 7.5t lorry) - fortunately I realised what it was going to do and ignored it

Harvey managing to take up the whole of a 3 horse lorry! (this was just while we were getting ready)
