I like this quote

I agree we all have the right to an opinion, and we all have the right to ignore others opinions, not so sure we have a right to make fun out of anyone's opinion though, to point out why in our opinion it may be wrong sure, but not to make fun of.

Isn't poking fun at an opinion , still an opinion? Not saying it's right or wrong to do it, just thinking and typing and eating lunch.
( so in theory not all brain cells are engaged fully in the reply) ;)
As for the reference to magnesium. If it were a brain impairing sedative it would be in the anxiety medication for humans? I can't comment on the neurobiology of the house I am only doing the human just now.

Whatever it does or doesn't do, my lass is less of an air head on it. She can focus- apart from her season when nookie is the main aim of the game!

See more twaddle, claptrap, rubbish, ignorance, nonsense.

I guess so, maybe, I'm not sure making someone feel bad is an opinion, stating they are wrong is.

One persons perception may not be the same as anothers - Some behaviour on this board has been described as bullying - by former members.

@newforest he's involved in quite a bit of equine diet and performance research, as well as (I think) owning Science Supplements.
Rather questionable research in my opinion ! to date almost every bit of so called ' independent research' the man undertakes is always geared to come out in favour of one of his own products. However my apologies for going off topic ;)

Oh dear God Skib can you never give it a miss???

@Cortrasna I agree, although I think he was involved a while ago in research on how to best manage performance horses in hot climates and possibly some other "proper" research. He does tend to get a bit tetchy if people question his posts, so for that alone he's worth following!

I was talking to someone at work today and for one of the first times we had the same opinion on something. We usually have good little debates because we both have different views on the same topic. Both agreed that it was far more boring that we both agreed!

I got called naive the other week for stating that I wasn't too sure if there would be life anywhere else in the universe. I was a little taken back because I would have rather had them say you are wrong because this evidence shows etc. Calling me naive just ends the conversation.

I wonder if before we knew the Earth was a sphere (I assume there was a time when this was true) the people that first suggested it wasn't flat got mocked and ignored. Probably. And now it's gone the other way. This must happen in science all the time.

Yes there is life out there, where do you think I came from. I cringe when they visit Mars.

As for science, it's changeable. Nobody ever knows everything.

Yes that's a bit off really calling you that. Everyone is entitled to an opinion and there are nice ways to have a discussion on something. I'd have been a bit put out!

Absolutely. In days gone by the new thinkers who believed it was not flat were mocked and not at all popular!

In fairness looking at both sides, I can be capable of saying some utter tosh. But we file under humorous because once said I realise its silly.
