There was some picture perfect fall foliage outstde town and NO CROWDSView attachment 104324View attachment 104325

This is halloweeny and kind of sad but the right thing was done in the end.

It's Rhode Islands vampire story.
Mercy Browns grave had vampire on it for hundreds of years.
The father dug her up after family members continued to get sick.
She looked pristine they burnt her heart fed it to sick family who still died and declared she was a vampire.
Vampire was carved into tombstone.

We passed it yesterday and stopped I'd passed it before but never stopped.

Thankfully they have chiseled sanded and removed vampire from this poor girls grave.
You can still see the faint image of rhe wording.View attachment 104326
Well, I've just slunk into a corner - those autumn colours make ours look pitiful

@newforest I think it's 5pm, though there was an announcement about Greater Manchester at 3pm.
Just looked and it's saying need update half four.

To be honest we have pretty much lost the virus because the public are lost.
They haven't done a regular weekly broadcast.
We've got half term coming. We appear to have nice weather. Will I cringe when the tourists arrive, yes I ruddy will!

Another case just been confirmed up here. We seem to be increasing despite the tourist season having more or less ended. I wonder if it's not them to blame at all and people coming and going off the island, ie residents? It's very worrying. I know it doesn't sound a lot 27 confirmed (two of those dead) but it's a lot I feel for a small place.

To be honest I think it’s too late now for anything to be effective, people are confused, unsurprisingly and bored with it all now.
Still scarethe willys out of me personally but I’m learning to take each day as it comes, enjoy what I can while I can and try not to worry about the what ifs.
Mr KRs Mum got taken into hospital on Saturday, she’d had yet another fall and broken her wrist quite badly, we found out yesterday that the lady in the next bed to her who also got admitted Saturday tested positive for Covid, she’s now been moved to a Covid ward but the ward MIL is in has been locked down, no one in or out for two weeks. She’s quite scared but still keeps complaining that we haven’t visited (we’re not allowed too!) like it’s our fault.

And that's the sad part in all of this.
No visiting. At least they are testing everyone they admit now. We couldn't do that back in March.

We are not united anymore. Manchester is refusing to lockdown- from what I can gather.

I think we all will get to the stage of learning to live with it, it will burn itself out.

I don't watch the news is becoming a normal comment. So they won't know Wales is locking down Friday. It's Tuesday.

I wonder if some of the spread is the weather. It can blow it all over the place.

@newforest given that they've shown transmission outdoors is extremely low I don't think the wind can be blowing it about and infecting people. I suspect if the weather is an issue it's partly that in cooler damper weather people spend more time indoors which is where they believe most cases are passed on and also viruses tend to do better in a cool damp environment.

Kite rider.. I really envy people who can draw or paint... thats a wonderful talent.

Here too every state is different nothing is consistent across the board except stupid people that take big chances for no good reason.

I go where I need to and take all the precautions I can.
There are places I'd like to go and things I miss doing but its not worth taking a chance.

I found out yesterday my vet has students traveling with them again due to an emergency call for my oldest goat Danni choking on hay pellets.
They pulled in both wearing masks.

Im soooo glad all their vets are awesome as they are part of TUFTS vet school also teach.
One of the horse specialists was right here ln town on a call so she was here quickly.
I had never seen or heard of a goat being tubed before.
I was worried at first when one of the 2 goat specialists that worked on the miracle goats were not available.
They may heve a specialty but they all know their stuff with all farm animals.
I'm sooo lucky to have that satellite clinic right in the area and the major campus and hospital not that far away.

Thankfully he seems fine..
I'm the one who has not recovered.

Thanks everyone hes looking totally normal
And today in was much better

This is how bad it was in the space of just a few min..
I was totally panicked not knowing if he was going to survive. I had never seen anything like this in a goat.
And he wanted no part of me trying to clear his nose. He was fighting it tooth and nail.
I had everything going thru my mind saying goodbyes and where would he get buried on the propery.

Twenty six thousand cases in the uk today.
I think the best thing I read is they are not even contacting everyone that's tested positive- they can't keep up, let alone trace the contacts.
How long will it be before it's let go again and we are back to just the hospital admissions and nhs / frontline workers. Care homes?
