This weather and the unreliability of weather forecasts have not been good for Fleur's metabolic issues, Stonking lame both fronts on pain relief, hoof boots on yard during the day and box rest at night.

Not ideal as she is very stressed stabled since she came back , she was fine before that. This morning at least the door was still in place and managed to feed her then get her out without being knocked over.

As to the stable, I have never seen one horse do so much mess in 1 night, Lily has been using it since she came, and made now mess. Just a sea of brown, been box walking, she was sweating when i went down.

Not sure how this is going to end.

Sorry to read this - its horrible when they are stressed about being kept in, even when it is for their own good. Sending lots of healing vibes.

bit more settled last night, box still a disaster area but she has some shavings on her, so she did lie down. Still pretty sore, her mum is keeping her company

Vet been out as an emergency tonight, given her pain relief. We both agree the regime isn't working for her, and she will be allowed to be a horse and be free, And we will probably call it next relapse. She was sweating up, stressed, she can't do box rest even in a double stable, and living 24.7 on a concrete yard isn't a life for her. Her mum suze would be fine but Fleur is a buzzy active girl. Vet has banged her full of pain relief so I can give her a few days of fun and also so that if she has to be pts, it won't be someone we don't know coming our. Sarah will come even on days she doesn't work. Very sad but Sarah realises that Fleur just temperamentally can't do what is needed to keep her sound and pain free.

Fleuer gone out with the others, she was soaking wet as standing in the rain as couldn't rug her last night as she was so hot. Put a thermatex on her to dry her off and her outdoor rug on and let her out after she ate her meds, She was so happy to go out and looks fine so long as you don't look below the knee. The soft ground will help her a bit and see if we can get her over the weekend and then decide what to do.

Sorry you are having such a hard time - it sounds very difficult. Sending healing vibes still.
came in for dinner, ate up, walking worse, she has been lying down flat out in the field asleep or taking the weight off her feet, calm and quiet. She went straight back out again, see what we find in the morning but not looking good

We think of you and Fleur every day. From a distance. Sorry that you and she are having to go through this.

Sorry I just realised re reading you were more worried when she was laying down. My mistake thinking she’d been reluctant. Hope she’s heading the right way or at least no worse.xx

was pleased she was lying down to take the weight off her feet which are sore and the fact she didn't do it yesterday maybe suggests the pain relief is helping but she is still walking like a duck. She is very quiet. Sarah is coming out on Wednesday to pts as she only works 3 days a week, but if she is much worse today will have to have a total stranger out which is not ideal.

Poor lass - sending more vibes, how sad for you. Hopefully you can wait for Sarah.

She was due to be pts yesterday but vet very busy that day so we left it She is out in the field as she won't do box rest and walking on concrete isn't good at the moment. Essentially once we have another freeze and the field is frozen she will go, as we have run out of options to keep her reasonably comfortable. She was walking well in the field today shared video with her vet so wait and see. I would have loved to get her to summer when we can manage her easily and then have her pts before winter but doubt can achieve this.

I was thinking of you both yesterday and wondering if you had gone ahead with it. Sending tons more vibes - so difficult at this time of year, somehow things seem worse if you've got bad weather to add to the mix.

She is still with us, I almost called the vet this morning as she was walking more on her heels then five minutes later Harmony went up the field after being ridden, galloped up bucking and kicking did a circle and Fleur joined in at a canter. Confused and conflicted.

Oh dear, yes, I can see how conflicted you must feel. Sending more healing vibes anyway.
