Its not quite the weekend yet but what have you got planned?

I've got nothing much out of the ordinary, chores at the field, hopefully a ride or two and all 3 need their feet trimmed, and looking at a friend's new horse :)

Posting my pressies and cards, helping Mr T with some work, finishing putting the decos up, hopefully reading the rest of my novel, eating, staying warm and walking my dog - whoops no, I meant horse:rolleyes::D:p

Trying to do my Christmas shopping. It's stressing me out, as it does every year. I never bloody know what to get anyone. I'm not really a person who's that into "stuff", so I find it really hard to choose things to give to other people, it all just seems useless or tacky or a waste of space. I've already been into town 3 times and bought nothing, and I've spent the entire day on the internet looking at things for inspiration, and got nowhere. I'm particularly stuck on what to get my 18-month-old nephew, if anyone has any ideas there! I mean he already has plenty of clothes, all the toys under the sun, a library's worth of books, he's too young to appreciate anything personalised or meaningful, what else is there?!
I'm also in charge of dog-walking, cooking and housework for the weekend as my dad has buggered his back.

Hopefully taking Faran to his first inhand show. I might come home smiling or I might come home with no teeth o_O going to be one or the other I think lol

Hopefully he will be his usual well behaved wee self although I am expecting a certain Level of excitability. I have his rope headcollar all prepped and it will be going over his inhand halter to make sure I don’t have a repeat of his breakout like he did after breaking his headcollar at the sales and going for a wander round the lorry park :cool:

My nephew is 15 months and I've got him a bubble machine :) I brought one for my friends daughter at about that age and she loved it, hours of fun chasing bubbles :)

Working Saturday and then I've got a date.

Sunday I'm hopefully riding Brodie, spending lots of time with Ale, starting my next uni assignment and a 10-15 mile walk now training has begun for May.

My days are all mixed up this week! I usually work Monday, Tuesday and Friday, but because I have so much to do, I’ve been in work today, and I have spent all day thinking it’s Friday.

Then I come on here and first thread I see is about weekend plans. Now I’m CONVINCED it must be Friday. Is it, isn’t it?

Anyway, the weather is looking really bad for us this weekend. High winds on Saturday and a warning in place for wind and snow Saturday afternoon through to Sunday morning. Definitely no riding on Saturday and Sunday will depend on the snow I suppose.
I will write out my Christmas cards and finish wrapping presents. May also put the tree up.

Ooh @Ale a date? Hope that goes well for you.

Well I should have moved the boys back down to the bottom field at the beginning of the month but I got so use to having them close to the yard for the last 2 months and riding in the morning that I couldn't be bother to move them. I decided that I would leave it till the farrier had been this week. I can't ride in the mornings now there at there darkest, as it makes my working day late. So weekdays now they get a quick lunge.
So my task this weekend is to take down there strip grazing fences and reassemble in the bottom field. I'm fencing off the flat area which has some long grass on it so I can use it as my new lunge area. The long grass should stop it cutting up too quickly. The boys will be banned from grazing that bit.
Will squeeze in a couple of rides as well.

I have my mum's Christmas party (at the home where she lives) on Sunday. Hoping to take Raf out somewhere local-ish on Saturday, just for a change of scenery. If I don't, it will be a while before we can get out again - Christmas is a pain - it really interferes with my riding plans :p

ETA just seen Saturday’s forecast - heavy snow ... WTF??!

Thinking its Friday on Thursday is never good, well I guess it is when you have a long weekend to get everything done :)

Most of the forecasts seem to have the north/west down for snow, but I did see one from a normally reliable source that said it might get as far as us and if not it would just be cold and rainy :( either way I'll be getting up early to crack on so hopefully by the time it hits I can curl up on the sofa with a blanky :D

Well my weekend has obviously come early. Decided I didn't want to move fencing in the rain so I got up and took all the fencing up and have put it up in the bottom field. Horses moved. I can have a sofa day if it does rain.

It looks like Saturday is going to be freezing rain, so probably stable jobs and maybe a quick session in the school. Sunday is the last fun ride of the year :)

Saturday: Hacking out the ponio. :D

And on Sunday, jumping it in his first jumping competition at my yard. And then jumping Flash in the bigger classes at same comp.

 I think I'd rather have snow, although both will stop play  We've got 40 mph winds and snow forecast tomorrow, but not until about 4 pm. The morning doesn't look too bad, but there's a weather warning for black ice, so I think I'll just play it by ear! Hope you've battoned down all your hatches and can get horses and humans tucked up indoors safe and sound tomorrow x
