Keeping a first aid kit dry

I currently store first aid equipment in a plastic drawer in a ketter unit outside in full elements.

The damp always gets in which isn't a problem for some things as they have plastic wrappers but certain items I lose to the damp.

Any thoughts on what I can keep it all in to keep it dry and together that doesn't cost the world? Plastic boxes still seem to get damp inside is there something I could put in there to absorb moisture?

Also what else would you include?
Things I have or am getting

Saline eye wash
Antibiotic eye drops
Gauze
Vetwrap
Scissors
Bute
Sudocream and various other wound creams
Silver spray
Vaseline and thermometer

I have mine in a small tool box. As long as it is completely air tight and closed properly, everything stays dry inside.

I don't tend to keep much in there to be honest. Cotton wool, thermometer, purple spray, sudocream, scissors etc. We have a tack shop just a few miles away so I can buy anything I need pretty quickly.

Yep some kind of Tupperware meant to keep food fresh is probably ideal, anything without a seal likely won't keep it dry enough. You could also ask friends/family to save (or buy) the little packets of silicon you get in some parcels and pop them in there, they soak up the water so will need periodically replacing but they can help.

My modern plastic tool box remained completely dry inside even after flooding. It has a lever clip seal. Two of them

Long ago our first VW scirocco came with a posh VW German first aid kit in a plastic box with two similar catches - It is still in the boot and never used.

All my electric DIY tools come in similar plastic cases with clip down lids. I keep my tools in a cellar which is not water tight. And I like the boxes as when you open them, everything is laid out as you want it. The only draw back of my tool box is that it is quite heavy. But it has a good carrying handel which food boxes dont have.
I use gattos in earlsfield for tools and some tool boxes are advertised as waterproof.

Plastic food boxed with an additional four clips (flaps one each side) might be OK but they could get brittle in frost unless certified OK for freezing. And they can become fiddly or stiff to open which is not what you want when in a hurry getting first aid. Anything that has a lever to push down will complete the seal better.

I have these items too - along with purple spray, animalintex, various size sterile dressings, intra site gel, gold label itch gone cream with neem oil, plastic hoof boot, green oil spray for small cuts, hibiscrub and Lucilin sterile spray

I keep all of my first aid stuff in the draw of a filing cabinet in my shed, I do put smaller items such as bute sachets into ziplocks to keep them really dry, that might work with your existing set up?

Thank-you for all the ideas, I'm going to have a measure of the current drawer and see if I can get a tool box like container that will fit in there. But I also like the idea of having a separate food container that I can keep things like but and any open dressing in just to be super organised and keep them all clean and dry.

Knew you guys would have the answer!

I keep mine in a grooming box - one of those step and carry sturdy plastic boxes, same as I keep my grooming kit in. Wouldn’t fit in your drawer though obviously - I keep mine stacked with my grooming box outside my (indoor) stable. Easy to put on the wagon when we go out though.

This is part one, but thank-you for all the suggestions. This fits snugly in the drawer with my wind up lamp and space for an additional box.

Don't know what I would do without you helpful bunch :)Screenshot_2019-02-03-21-56-29.png
