What is it? I’ve heard of it mentioned loads but don’t actually know what it’s for!!

It's a substance extracted from the hemp plant. Excellent for inflammation and pain management, stuff like arthritis. Seizures, anxiety, MS, all sorts.
I don't think much research has been done on its use on animals though.

I asked my mum's Parkinsons doctor about it at one of her hospital appointments. He said there have been no clinical trials that prove its effectiveness and because its unregulated it's hard to know what strength you are getting or need and anyway you are unlikely to be able to obtain it in this country at a strength sufficient to have any effect.

I was quite disappointed at the time.

Thanks! Yes I think that’s where I’ve heard if it. A friend has MS and he’s spoken about using or trying it.

I agree. And that is why, despite my friends with back problems spouting about it being a miracle life transforming drug, I have steered well clear.
But I have friends who give it to their old dog and was just wondering........

It's an old thread but I just want to chime in and add that I haven't personally used CBD oil on my horse, but I've heard some great things about it from fellow equestrians. CBD oil is known to have anti-inflammatory properties which can be beneficial for horses dealing with arthritis or other joint issues. It can also help with anxiety and stress in horses, which is especially important for horses who travel frequently or compete in shows. And if you're interested in learning more about the benefits of CBD, check out this link: https://www.mindbodygreen.com/artic...his-200-year-old-heirloom-best-cbd-for-relief. It's got some great info on the topic.
