When I’m poo picking, especially since this lockdown, I find myself chatting away to my lot ? asking how their days have been and how they’re feeling and assuming their answers ?‍♀️ I talk to each in turn while I’m poo picking around them and they’re tucking into their hay. My neighbours hopefully assume I’m on the phone ? I’ve always talked to the but not whole conversations, I think the isolation is getting to me ?

Oh yes, I've always talked lots to mine. When Storm was rideable I used to have lots of long drawn out conversations as we merrily pootled about. At first it was down to nerves and I hoped that by nattering her into submission, we'd make it back safely in one piece. (This was assuming I was riding alone without Mr t). Then, as time went by I found myself talking to her more and more on the ground. I've always nattered to Chloe, used to tell her all of my secrets when she used to squeeze herself into the feed room at the old house. I talk to Zi as I skip out around him in winter - and often I will sit with whole gang in the sun on the yard some days - there's often something to say (or not). I agree with @Sparky Lily they are good listeners!;):D

Yep, talk to the horses, sheep, cows and dogs.
Creepy you should post this. Were you the one that was walking behind me this morning when i was talking to the dog about what jobs i had to do in the yard as we were walking down to the sheep. I never heard them. They must have thought i was off my trolley.

Always. Horse, dog, cat. I also used to cry to Ramsey, when I was low, but Hogan doesn't reaĺly lend himself to that.?
Pete's the same. He's very much a 'suck it up sunshine' type of guy and it clearly makes him incredibly uncomfortable if people come with their own emotional baggage. He'd make an awful PAT horse :D

I still chat to him though and the dog.

Exactly!

I don't do the voices back, but Raf often nods or shakes his head as if in agreement or denial so I continue the conversation as though he was joining in ... he's actually probably just thinking god I wish this woman would shut up!

Actually I think it was Mark Rashid who said that because horses mainly use body language to communicate and only vocalise occasionally, they probably think we're insane when we chatter away. I suppose their default is to be quiet so they can listen out for predators.
