Post a photo today...new 2021 edition

Two of my three yearling CrepeMyrtles are blooming fools🌺🌺 The bush on the left got smashed by a big limb off the Bradford Pear tree during the nasty March ice storm. I’m surprised it came back in such a stellar manner.

#3 is alive and well but is in a different section of the yard. It gets full sun, so I’m not sure why It’s so slow to bloom. They were all planted the same day and fertilized in identical manner.

Crepe Myrtles are non-toxic to every creature. One of my horses has the yard as part of his grazing area, so I checked, lol.

The bottoms of the background trees are nowhere to be seen because this part of the yard sits pretty high, even though it doesn’t look that way..

A rather disturbing picture in amongst my mum's stuff I got recently. I know the story though - he was a penpal, and she cut off the correspondence when it emerged what was going on in Germany at the time.Screenshot_20210713-112316_Gallery.jpg

Do you have his name Huggy? Or may be if you prefer, PM me any details of his name and where he lived. It is my field of research and I may be able to find out what happened to him. If he was killed, all details will be on line.

However, to get a full army service record from Germany costs a hefty fee to be paid in Euros by bank transfer. I have only done it once for a special case and dont plan to do it again.

Should add that I have a reputation for being good at this sort of detective work and I enjoy it.

Particularly as I am not very well, (Covid test negaitve yesterday) cancelled my ride and miserable.

Sorry you're unwell - hope you pick up soon. I don't know his name off the top of my head, I'll have to dig in through my mum's letters to see if there's anything from him. There s a signature on the back, but I can't make it out at all. I'll see what I can dredge up from the mountains of papers! Looking again, could it be Kaufmann? I. Kaufmann?Screenshot_20210713-125120_Gallery.jpg

I read his name as Angstmann. That is old German script. Need his town of origin please, if you can find it, as so many killed.

HAY THIEF..

Another miserable weather day.
Sonny's gate was open its misty drizzle and now has gotten pea soup foggy

Instead of eating some grass he is stealing her hay.
Its nice first cut but its not like its heavy clover second cut.

It was cute I put more so it was part way to both sides and ANDI YANKED IT RIGHT TO HER SIDE..

She is not snarking at him hmmm.

@horseandgoatmom somehow I had the notion you live in the PNW but you’re on the east coast aren’t you?

I snapped this with my old IPhone Friday night, as the sun was going down.

That gigantic black cloud was at a complete standstill. To me, there is something more ominous about a black cloud sitting — waiting, than when they are in a churled frenzy.

When it finally did move, it stayed on its northerly path and completely missed us, all it left behind was the knife cutting humidity. However, the barn is 475 feet from the house. Many times it has rained at the barn and not at the house, lol
