Post a photo today...new 2021 edition

It certainly made me smile...

The setting was awesome too.
I LOVE STEAM TRAINS.
Last year we took the grandchildren on the Christmas steam train in Alton - it was so lovely. Elves serving juice and cookies for the kids, and wine and mince pies for the grown ups. Christmas sing songs, and Father Christmas with gifts. Add to that passing Thomas the tank engine on the track - the children were enchanted, as were the adults. Modern trains aren't even half as much fun!

Magic!

Modern trains are just transportation.

Edaville railroad was fabulous many years ago
They had a train ride around a cranberry bog with little narrow guage steam engines
Lots of xmas lights ...dioramas
Museum lots of static trains.
Then sadly they moved to maine.
Lots was sold off from the museum etc

They moved back 8 or 9 years later
It was never the same.
Most of the great stuff was sold off before the Maine move.

A little switcher diesel pulling the cars isn't the same.

The original steam engines also provided the steam to heat the cars.

They have tried to re invent again now to a theme park but i havent Been back

I guess there is a Thomas engine
That runs sometimes
A dinosaur section and lots more carnival rides.

Found a tiny hidden gem of a railroad museum.
We went yestetday.
It wasn't big but the main things were a fully restored round house on its original site and its turntable.
There were other original buildings.
There was an amazing restored caboose.
Ohh that would have made such a fun
SHE SHED crafts room
It was tucked down a dirt road.
We had trouble actually finding how to get into it
The GPS sent us into a huge cemetary you could look down and see into the place but no visible access.
The only bad thing was the mosquitoes were horrible.
At least for me.
Sadly ugh they love my bloodtype.
I'm getting eaten alive my husband barely
Bitten.
I didn't think to bring bug spray.
We were the only visitors there which was nice.

Heres a what do you think this is....

It was hanging on the side of this switcher
engine on hooks to be able to be easily removed...
There was one on each side..

I thought it might be spare brake shoes nothing in the undercarriage looked like this part.

Its a work in progress and may need to be
Tweeked..

It should protect the cord that will go to the little tree .

I think i have a couple more replica wagon wheels for the center of the panels.

I need to get a couple pumpkins for near the panels
And some bigger fall flowers for the pots.

It went from lovely blue sky to uky gloom
BUT ITS NOT HOT...SO I.WILL TAKE IT

It's getting there.

With the senior discount today pumpkins were only 40 cents more than Walmart at the local store...and I was already there.

The cord is stretched ohhhh just made it...
When it gets dusky out I can put the lights on.

A bit closer to Halloween I think I will put the life size horse skeleton behind it. 🙄
The guy who does lots of serious decorating has a lot of Halloween up akready.
