November chit-chat

YAY!!!! I found Equimax @horseandgoatmom ! — In Nebraska at Heartland Vet Supply!!! I ordered some thrush Buster and Vetericyn to have on hand and because I felt guily when the girl taking my order walked out to the warehouse to make sure the Equimax was actually on the shelf. Turned out I got the last bottle of original Vetericyn😳

We are waiting on the line of storms that went thru the middle of the U.S.; the SW really needed the rain but not the tornado warnings. Some southern states had tornadoes, I believe. We are only supposed to see some rain and a little wind — I‘ll believe that when I see it.

We will be in the 70’s for another ten days which is about ten degrees (F) above normal.

I don’t like when it gets dark so early - I fall asleep sooner and end up being wide awake at 3:00 AM. This AM I am watching “Valley Of The Kings” on the Science Channel. I have always been fascinated with ancient history.

Anyway the Equimax is on its way and I know two horses who will be upset with me when the weather cools down a little🐎🐎

someone in Colorado on another forum said it was 70 the day before, dropped to the 30’s overnight, woke up to snow and wind after all the rain the day before. That storm is now over us but it thankfully lost a lot of it’s wind punch. It is 65 ATM and raining a much needed, good soaking rain.

This weather is nuts.

Like the Somme at the horses tonight, bonfires everywhere and drizzle meant thick acrid smoke just hanging, like being in thick fog. Fireworks a plenty, 2 big commercial displays under a mile away and huge mortar type bangs within 100m. Bloody glad my mob are good about it, but even Jess was a bit skitty until she had hay in front of her.

I hope everyone was ok after the bonfires.

It's going to be really hot today ugh
Aside from time change disrupting things.

The normal high is 56f
It's not even 4am and it's 65f.

Narragansett..down on the coast had a small earthquake just before 6 pm last night.

It's not hugely far from here.
I don't know how far afield people might have felt something...I didn't.

We don't have earthquakes often.

Years ago I did feel one at.the old house it was quite creepy.

.

I cant understand your clock change over there. It seems weird when our clock change was last week, and all that greenwich meantime stuff. I get that new year comes in at different times depending on where you are on the equator. I just never realised that the world has different weeks for clock changes. Clearly either didnt pay attention or we were never taught that in school many years ago. Only taken me till now to find out.

There is a Bill to keep one time permanent (I can’t remember which direction), but surprise surprise it’s stalled in Congress - Congress can’t figure out how to park their cars much less agree on a simple time change Bill🤐🤐

@horseandgoatmom I was at work, on the second floor, years ago when Our building was mildly rocked by earthquake. I want to say that was in the late 80’s, on the OH/PA border.

I went thru two shakers when I lived in SoCal’s Low Desert area. One rattled everything, the other one rolled the walls and broke my water line to the horses. Out there, water lines aren’t very deep so it was a simple fix. Both times my horses stayed amazingly calm - especially since they were mid west kids, more used to tornadoes😳😳

Ohh that must have been scary having water lines break

I think the bill is to keep daylight savings time permanent.

But I totally agree about congress.

This was pretty Just now.

I could hear the turkeys coming down from the trees.

Omg yesterday on the way for the second load of hay
A huge bunch of turkeys flew across the wide main road...
I need phone at the ready more often..sigh
I wasn't driving that would have been an awesome photo.
No way could I get my phone out quick enough

They did clear the blockage under the bridge
It's drained completely now to how it is all winter

They take that water down every year.

Yes that red this am was so vibrant.

Sadly good photos are missed..
I had no idea that turkey's flew across that road...
And bummer I wasn't driving so had I had my phone out I bet could have gotten photos

Its about time they banned them. I dont think even making them silent would be right. Animals will spook with the flashes.
So many people say they dont like them and so many are supposedly struggling yet there doesnt seem to be a decrease in the use.

I have just been down to do our gang, having been in bed for 2 days with flu. We can see fireworks from the yard, had great fun coaxing in an extremely tall and upset Ginger Giraffe. Buddy and Mr T were already on the yard and the comtois weren't bothered but GG was scared to come in herself so had to go and get her. Feet everythere, tall as the Empire State....
