Yes I have zopiclone too. Been on for years and years and they say it shouldn’t still be working. But like I said if I don’t take I don’t sleep at all.

I guess I should be happy to have only inherited look at food and gain weight
from my father.
I didn't get a happy medium...my mother was always slim.
She went to the doctor once I remember as a kid TO GAIN WEIGHT.

Lol he had her eating all sorts of stuff like chocolate cake at night.

It didn't work she could not keep it up.

On an island
My mum had insomnia, and so did my sister. Unfortunately I think my daughter's beginning to suffer a bit as well. Funny what we inherit from our parents
It's a terrible thing isn't it. Mr Trews suffered from insomnia from about 24 - 33, it was awful for both of us. So many nights he woke me or kept me awake too and whilst I felt sorry for him, could have happily throttled him !! lol (I don't mean it!!!). Me, I could sleep the sleep of the dead most nights. But now lovely menopause wakes me feeling so bloomin hot I could fry bacon on my legs. The thing that cured OH's insomina I swear was getting involved with the horses. I think when he bought Joe, for the first 12 months he was so dog tired physically after caring for him at both ends of the day and running a business too, he just crashed out.................and I think it broke the chain.
Though he does still have the odd bad night if work is playing up.

Took H out this morning - I can't get to grips with this weather - really hot again! He was a bit slow, though not as bad as he's been, we got a few good trots, and a few where I had to leg him on for every stride! Out again tomorrow, hope it's cooler, it's supposed to be cloudy. ...

Out again today, and what a lot of possible catastrophes we avoided. I got on to leave at our gate, got 20 feet down the lane, and heard voices, - coming up behind us three riders - Hogan really doesn't like other riders - AT ALL! However, we stood and let them pass, then he didn't want to walk on behind. I didn't want a fight, so we waited until they turned off the lane - on he walked, happy as larry. Off we go, totally chilled, into the inclosure, through one of the narrow tracks. Suddenly, parallel, about 15 ft away, 8-10 ponies, galloping towards and past us. Hogan stopped dead, snorted and danced a little, then settled and onwards. Relief doesn't describe it! Nice trot along the big track, at which point I decided to quit while I was ahead. Got to the gate, had just opened it, when 4 of said ponies galloped down the hill. Statue Hogan, gate open, can't move. Then one of them trotted towards us, I waved my whip and told it where to go and we got out and shut the gate. As we walked home, crazy lady who careers round the forest like a loon was just saddling up to go out. We missed her by minutes. There is a God, and I have thanked him profusely today!

A very late report for me as I have had a week off! I'll do this in 2 parts.....

So - 2 weeks ago Harvey had a puffy front right leg and while sound wasn't quite right. By the weekend it had gone down but I was still cautious and opted for a couple of short flat hacks

On Monday I went to visit my old share horse. You may remember his owner died and we rehomed him to a lovely lady (who sadly is 3 hours away). I was delighted to see he is in fantastic condition and clearly loves his new owner and his new girlfriend (he lives with her retired mare). She is an absolutely perfect home for him and we spent about 1.5 hours talking to her and the horses.

I think he remembers me :) I wish he was nearer!

Last Thursday was a trip out. I took A who is my normal riding Buddy and our weekend groom, and we went to ride with S who is going to be our new weekday groom. Once she starts work the 2 grooms won't often be able to ride together as one of them will always be at work. We had a really nice hack in the Wyre Forest (and I totally forgot to take any pictures!)

Harvey had a day off on Friday and then a light hack on Saturday

Sunday was (surprise!!) a SJ clinic. Harvey was jumping really well. We started at 90cm, and then did a partial round at 100/105cm

Someone got a bit overexcited and had a little bucking session :)

The turn to the last fence was really tight so I was told I could miss it out (which of course meant we had to do it!)

Thought I'd video Hogans slooow walk! But actually, it doesn't look as bad as it feels. He was good as gold today, trotted up well (once he woke up!) and the weather was perfect - not too warm, but bright and sunny.https://photos.app.goo.gl/8G3iSKdx5xAsGDib9
