It looks like the weather is about to do an about turn here. It was 25/26c over the last few days, and I just saw the forecast is down to 13c in the day and 2c at night this weekend! I think I might be busting out the rugs!

Have things dried out a bit up north now? how are your stables @Doodle92?

Yes levels coming back down again, we had a lovely dry day yesterday. Yard is almost dried out. High winds this afternoon so hopefully dry the rest and the roads are fine again.

Yes colder here to from today. Tomorrow looks like horrific rain for us all day.
Think we will be feeling it, some 10 degrees colder.

Well so much for a horrible wet day. yesterday morning when i checked it was rain from 10am right through with about 16mm. By the time i got home from work it was showing 2.3 mm of rain from about 4pm. They really want to make there minds up. I was contemplating getting the rugs out during yesterday to put on last night based on the morning forecast. Thank god i didnt do it. Its still pretty warm here. You can get away with a tshirt if your moving about. The horses would be roasting in rugs right now.

We've ended up with a quite pleasant week - not too hot, bright but chilly mornings and today cloudy and mild with a smattering of drizzle. Actually been good riding weather.

We weren’t forecast rain yesterday last time I checked but from lunchtime it was heavy and steady, and only just stopped about 4am. It was still 18c though so no way I was rugging them, they’d be melting!

I rugged last night. Although im not sure why. Both rugs soaked through. They are still drier underneath than if i hadnt rugged. It has poured. Ive got soaked this morning doing the rounds. I was supposed to reproof rugs over the summer. Another job i havent done. I havent got enough proofer so i need to order some more.

Another lovely day. I'm hoping the weather did its worst the other day and it is over and done with!

Heavy rain here last night, drizzly most of the day and more heavy rain forecast for tonight and tomorrow alongside strong winds (ok, not what some of you Scottish posters would call strong!). Then from tomorrow night the temperatures are set to drop a lot, probably not way below October norms but it's going to feel worse after such unseasonally warm weather - it's been 15c overnight most nights, 1 or 2c is going to feel cold!

Looks like bright and sunny here, while we're away and pants in Venice. Hey ho.

When I thought it had stopped raining yesterday morning it hadn’t, it had just gone from heavy rain to heavy drizzle, which it did all day. Overnight it went back to heavy rain, I’m laid in bed listening to it wondering how on earth I’m going to do the horses and not look like I’ve been dragged through a hedge backwards to meet guests at work at 8am!

It was murky here all day yesterday and today, although it was suggested that things might clear up, it is still raining that not very hard but very wet and persistent rain, plus it's windy. And warm. Yuk.

Had to take the rain sheet off Billy this morning he was clearly sweating. Its still very mild, even with the strong winds we have had. Some trees and branches down overnight. Big limb of the sycamore tree on the track right where im currently feeding the boys. I managed to move it a bit out the way.
Left the rain sheet on chunky but really annoyed his neck has big scraps on the bald skin. I reckon billy has groomed his neck where theres no mane and sunk his teeth in. The skin although completely bald was perfect yesterday when i took the fly sheet off. Not a mark. 24hrs and it raw. He could have rubbed on a tree but i suspect a mouth to be the culprit.

The rain broke for me to do the horses this morning, yay! It was still 16.5c when I went down at 6.45am. It's stayed really windy, there was a big tree down across the main road on my way to work. But this afternoon the sun has crept out, lets hope it can stay dry for 24 hours and the wind drops, I'd like to get a ride in tomorrow!

Very wet here today. Got Hogan in, a very soggy cob, which makes him rub against the partition, which he broke last wet spell. So, baby blanket rug on, to stop him rubbing - it worked!20231013_092057.jpg
