A weather thread

Bit blustery last night. So many schools have closed - sorry but I think that's wimpy. Its not that bad at all.
I don't think it is wimpy, Jersey got 104mph winds and a tornado - if the storm had tracked slightly further north, as it was predicted to, then the south coast would have got that - then you'd have parents trying to get to their kids to/from the schools in crazy weather.

I don't mean the likes of Jersey and Cornwall, I mean here, where I am. Its windy and a bit wet - absolutely no need for school closures

The weather forecast yesterday predicted (correctly) winds of maximum 35 mph. Gales? Yes. Hurricanes? Not at all.

Its pot luck though, looks like there has been tornados either side of the new forest at Lancing and Bridport too.

My body has decided its officially cold now. Up till last week i had been fine just resorted to my buff over the head if my head felt chilly when out, but last week my head was getting cold lots, so this morning i have given in and got the woolly hat out.
Weve had the log burner going for a month now. That only heats the lounge though. Although strangely i get cold in there after coming in from outside. Its only a small fire so difficult to keep the room temperature constant once the logs burn down. So its not very relaxing. My back gets cold quite quickly. I almost put my coat on to sit in there yesterday.
Had to resort to putting a couple of night storage heaters on last week as we couldnt get the washing dry.
No heating in the bedroom so its not nice to get dressed in after youve just had a warm shower so i think i will have to dig out my little radiator.
I hate feeling cold. My body needs to adjust now before we reach those minus temps.

I gave in and switched my heating on last week, just for half an hour in the morning and an hour in the evening to take the chill off. I hate being cold.

My heatings on an hour at each end of the day. We're getting the chimney cleaned in a couple of weeks, so can have a fire then - wish we could do it now!

Back to rain tomorrow which is good! The past few days have been lovely with lots of people having trips out and doing fun stuff. I feel grumpy! Robin was desperate to go out in the trailer with his field buddy. However they were going hunting (clean boot/blood hounds) and I would never be brave enough!!

Wet here. Been out in it most of the day though. To the point ive just eaten breakfast at 3.30 in the afternoon. Walked the horses, been tinkering and putting things away for winter. Taken out horses track down.

I was going out to walk the dog and feed the calves an hour ago. Got all kitted up opened the door and it was pouring. So i shut the door and got on the computer instead. So im sitting here with all my outdoor kit on, coat, boots, hat the lot. Quins got his dog coat and flashing collar on ready too. Was enthusiastic to go out till i saw the precipitation, now its late and i dont want to go out.

Very strong winds today, with some rain. Strong winds and Luka are not a good combination, he was barely sane last night and today.

I walked both out in hand this morning in the winds. Both were actually good and not fazed by the wind spook wise. Infact Chunky was actually in cheeky mode. It wasnt the wind i think hes just glad to be going out.

Just horrible here - it's dry just now, but got totally drenched this morning poo picking. Didn't even bring him in. My garden is a mushy bog as well. Fed up with it.

I'm absolutely fed up with this weather now. Every time we get high winds Luka is like something possessed, never mind riding him even handling can be dicey, and rather than getting used to it he's getting more and more wound up. I can sympathise with him to a degree since they give me headaches and can trigger migraines too, but I'm getting a bit fed up with the drama and the field set up makes it harder and potentially dangerous - no I don't have any control over that.

I suspect right about now Monkey is regretting running off right after I had taken his night rug off and before I put his day rug on 😆 he'll learn one day because it's now tiddling down and he will be shivering!
