You got videos working again. Have to see if they work for me.

He looks chilled enough although i think hes got a slight questioning look in his eye. A few more sessions and he will be really relaxed.
He looks quite short with the saddle on but reading your other post needing a 6'3 rug hes not short at all.
He’s always got a bit of a funny look as you can see the whites of his eyes, and he often has a slightly worried look to him even just in the field but there will be plenty more sessions for him to get really used to it, I need to figure out a proper area to work him in too.
He was just over 15hh and half an inch when I put a stick on him a few months ago, that saddle is a bit of an odd shape due to built in memory foam seat and huge panels so it looks like it sits really high until you’ve sat in it for a while.

I missed his gotcha day, it fell in the 24 hours I had at home between a work trip to the states and my holiday to Wales. The last year has absolutely flown by, I'm really looking forward to the next year with him :D

He certainly hasn't disappointed you in any way, has he?

He’s a funny lad, discovered tonight he really quite likes raspberries blown on his nose, he’s not keen on kisses though 🤣 such a boy

Every time I do something with him I fall a little bit more for him 🥰
2nd try on long lines tonight, started well then had a little panic when we turned and the line was round his bum, but only a few steps forward then stops and waits. Then off we go again for another half a dozen laps up and down the field, all foot perfect (though obviously a bit wobbly, he is only a bubba). A bit of desensitisation with a rope purposely around his bum and he quickly figured it didn’t matter.
Then we were done but he was loitering in the barn so I started fiddling, quickly progressed to steps out and clambering up, leaning over for scratches, leant right over and more fusses. Then I decided I should probably put a headcollar on for safety 🤣 and did some more from both sides and moving his feet with weight on him (tippy toes still on the block) 😁

I'm in love with him and I've never even met him. You've got a keeper there.

Monkey made me chuckle last night, I had a new tarp to put over the hay, a huge one big enough to cover 8 round bales. Niko was loitering as he does after dinner, and when I started unfolding the tarp, he decided to help, over my shoulder, right in the way, mouthing and tugging it, stomping on it. It took me twice as long as it should have :D

He’s a dude, 3rd time in long lines, 1st time not in the field and he just gets on with it (considering I was on my own, also leading Hank and felt confident enough to get a picture shows just how good), his only slight wobble was when a drain cover apparently tried to bite his ankles and he had to jump 😋 🤣🤣

I led him out, and switched to long lines on the way home, #setting up for success, baby steps but I’m really pleased with how good he was, he was his usual alert and a bit snorty self but that’s hardly surprising for Arab x Welsh 🤣 I just love that there’s rarely drama with it.

I gush about him a lot, but for his age, he is just so good.
Had the vet for jabs tonight and as I had the teeth specialist I figured I’d ask him just to cast an eye, the gag made Niko anxious but he stood like a champ without any sedation

Vet wasn’t worried but after a quick chat about wolf teeth and a few sharp bits I decided just to get him to sort out now rather than wait until spring. He got some happy juice and some local for the extraction, but was still very with it (note to self for future, if you want him out of it he’ll need an elephant dose)

So he’s wolf toothless and minus a few more caps and no more sharp edges.

And as he’s had happy juice I added insult to injury and cleaned his manhood, he wasn’t so impressed, some bits seemed quite sore, so slathered in baby oil and hopefully it will ease the last bits off over the next few days.

He’s so sweet, in the mornings he follows me (loose) up the track when I open the gate to the paddock, waits patiently while I pin it back and mooches in, normally stopping to graze right in the gate so I click him on into the paddock properly (in the hopes a bit of grass left there will delay mud developing) and he wanders in 50ft or so, as I’m walking away there’s squeals and thumping hooves as he explodes with delight 🤣 I’m so glad he’s gentlemanly enough to wait until I’m out of the way 👌

Poor little man, those teeth looked sore! He is so good. I compare him to how Charlie was and am glad I gave up...
They weren’t sore, a couple of baby caps that were ready to go and the wolf teeth were just removed as a precaution so they don’t get sore in future as they were quite big and the bit could possibly have caught them

Niko was totally free to leave, but he stayed with Az who’s 6 and her brother who’s 3 for about 20 minutes getting kisses and having raspberries blown on his nose (he’s a bit weird and loves that more than kisses), every time they kissed him he’d stick his nose in ready for another 🥰

He's so good in so many ways, but his little rug stomping habit drives me potty. Apparently it's like a red rag to a bull. This morning I took his rug off, walked a few meters back along the track and put it in his hay box, rather than going all the way back to the barn with it. Then went the few meters in the other direction to open the gate onto the grass, by which time he'd gone, pulled it out and was thoroughly enjoying pawing it into the mud 😡
